DS 21 went hiking yesterday. I went out this morning to the car wash. I got home and he is looking for a "pin" to remove the "other half of the tick" that didn't come out when he tried to burn it. The best way to remove a tick is a fine pair of tweezers and pull gently. Of course, we are WAY PAST that. 
My first reaction is to call DH but of course, that isn't an option. I was able to get a hold of one of our friends and he ordered a one time dose of Doxicycline 200 mg. Warning; don't use fire, oil, water or any other funky thing on ticks.
