DS 21 went hiking yesterday. I went out this morning to the car wash. I got home and he is looking for a "pin" to remove the "other half of the tick" that didn't come out when he tried to burn it. The best way to remove a tick is a fine pair of tweezers and pull gently. Of course, we are WAY PAST that. My first reaction is to call DH but of course, that isn't an option. I was able to get a hold of one of our friends and he ordered a one time dose of Doxicycline 200 mg. Warning; don't use fire, oil, water or any other funky thing on ticks.

My son is a "tick magnet". Ughg. I hate those things. He got the lyme vax series before they yanked it off the market, but it's still worrisome.

Glad he started the antibiotics. Hope it's all good for him.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Burned it off. What on earth was he thinking? :confused3
