First Floor Critters Concern?

I have stayed on all floors and never had an issue. But, as someone who lives in Florida, I can confirm that there is no less risk on an upper floor than a lower one. The key is to minimize how long your door is open. Never, ever, prop a door open, or open a window without a screen.

Just last week, I had to kill a wasp in my home that followed me in while bringing in the groceries.

We think it was either a New Guinea flat worm or a slug. We laughed about it because it was the first thing that greeted us in our room after a long travel day that got us to our hotel at 3 am.
I'm glad you could laugh at 3:00 in the morning after a long travel day not less. I am pretty chill but coming in at that late hour to that would have required a room change for me. I would have been too creeped out. If it was during the day I think I would have been ok, (provided there were no other issues,) not happy but not freaked out.

I was a little creeped out, but we were only staying in that room for that one night, which was really on about 6 hours. We were moving to our DVC room the following morning, where I did request a high floor!

never had a problem ourselves. Never know here in Florida. Did watch 2 otters playing in the lake at old key west couple of years ago
