Like the title says...this is my first ever trip report. I have to say I am a little nervous. I have always loved and enjoyed reading everyone else's trip report, I thought I would try to contribute. Please don't judge if it is horrible. I will try to keep it interesting...and oh yeah, sorry, I have pictures, but I don't know how to post them, so this is not a visual trip report. :confused3

First a little introduction: We are a DVC family of four. DD15, DD16, DH and Myself (I decided to capitalize the "M" in "myself" because I didn't want to be the only one not in capitals-:cutie:

10 days before leaving for our Disney vacation, my DD15 decided to jump off her grandmother's porch and break her ankle. Not just a hairline fracture, but a break big enough to need SUGERY :scared1: I have to say I was a little freaked out, both because I wanted to make sure she was going to be alright and because I couldn't help but think...what the heck are we going to do :confused3. The doctor told us not to worry, she would be fine...WHAT? She had surgery two days before our trip (thank goodness we were flying). The first night I thought no way, she is in too much pain, we need to cancel. She insisted we still go...second night she was a little better and has been improving everyday since. I called and rented a wheelchair and that seems to be working out just fine (with a few little bumps, but nothing too bad)

Day One:

And we're off...We were on the first flight out of Bradley on Saturday, 08/13/2011. Flying Southwest can be somewhat challenging, but with Abbie in a wheelchair we were able to pre-board. This was nice, we were able to get seats together so she could put her leg up on us (DD15 and Myself).

Now, I HATE to fly, I am a BIG chicken...I know it, I tried to keep it from my DD's as not to frighten them, but like I said I am a BIG chicken...not possible. So, I took my medication, a strong Bloody Mary (please don't judge) :, I was asleep and in no time flat we were landing.

We arrived at the airport, went to pick up our Full-Size rental car from Thrifty. We have (we are still here as I write this) a Ford Taurus...Nice Car!! Drive to the BeachClub Villas to check in. Everything went pretty smoothly-there were a couple of bumps, but nothing to get too upset over...we are on VACATION!!! Waaahoo!!!

The first night we were in a studio (no 2bdrms were available) and the other six nights, were are in a 2bdrm...LOVE DVC!!! Love not having to share a bathroom with two teenagers (and of course the kitchen and laundry are nice too).

We are very happy to be here...poor Abbie can't even go to the pool But she is a trooper and lets us know, she is happy to just be on vacation with her family

After checking in, we head to Beaches and Cream. I have to say, I was a little disappointed...the last time we ate here, many moons ago, I enjoyed the Prime Rib sandwich. BTW...we are not on the DDP... I was looking forward to that sandwhich...UGH Oh well, I ordered the steak sandwhich (Philly Style). It was okay. DH and DD16 ordered the burger-they said it was good (it looked really good) and DD15 ordered the chicken sandwich and really enjoyed it.

We decided to head to EPCOT as this is the closest park. We went on Spaceship Earth and The Seas with Nemo. We had 6:20 ADR's at Via Napoli...Dinner was FABULOUS!! Being from Connecticut and having Pepe's Pizza, I thought no way, go all the way to Florida to order pizza? But, DD's insisted. It was sooooo delicious, I would highly recommend this restaurant...yummy!!

After dinner, we just walked around the World Showcase and waited for Illuminations. It was great to be able to just walk back to the hotel after.

Sorry, still getting the hang of posting a trip report...my "First Ever Trip Report 08/13-08/20/2001-Introduction is on a separate post...

So..Day two, Sunday, 08/14

Today is AK day. We have ADR's for 8:10am at the Tusker House. So I wake the troops up early and off to breakfast with Donald and the Gang...The food was really good. Being able to get in the parks and take pictures before the crowds of people start piling in is absolutely priceless.

Our first stop (after our delicious breakfast) was the Kilimanjaro Safaris. Which was not the best idea with a recovering broken ankle. Ouch!!

We all got off the safaris. Abbie and I held back with the wheelchair and DD16 and DH headed to get fastpasses for Expedition Everest...not my cup of tea. I have been on that ride before, it was fine, but once was enough for me. We met up at the Dinosaur ride. Love this ride and it scares me every time hahahaha!!! Big Chicken!!

We hit, It's Tough to be a Bug, Finding Nemo: The Musical, Festival of the Lion King (DO NOT MISS THIS!!), DD16 and I did the Kali River Rapids and the Jungle Trek. The longest we waited was 10 minutes. I guess the trick is to get there early. By the time we were on our way out (around lunch time), the park was really filling up and it was HOT, HOT, HOT!!

We headed went to Steak n Shake for lunch...A/C...yesssssss

Came back to the room and took a nap.

Had dinner at Joe's Crab Shack...We love that place. I know it gets mixed reviews, but we always have fun and the food isn't bad.
