We're laying low for Christmas for the very first time this year...Christmas Eve hors d'oeuvres at Ma's house, and a quiet Christmas dinner at home for the day. I hope this new tradition sticks...I'm feeling particularly bah! humbug this year.

So, hubby is taking a half day today, bringing home some Mickey D's for lunch (love me some sweet tea), and I'm going out to finish up the shopping, ALONE.

Then later we will all go out into the cold (it's in the 20s today) and do a few last minute gifts. Then tonight hubby is going out alone to shop for me. Yes, he is one of those men who doesn't do their shopping until the last minute. I buy for everyone and wrap them all, he just does mine.

Ugh, I can't wait for May!

Mine too- went out oh so secretively- not- tonight after dinner. He is getting brownie points for getting the mickey crocs I wanted though

Agreed Don it is somewhat fun especially with the Christmas tunes on. I'm actually a fairly good wrapper. It the ribbons and bows that challenge me.

I also used to do something similar to get out of doing dishes when I was younger. I would break them...all poor mom would hear from the kitchen was oops! And before too long she'd shoo me from dishes!

george, you'll have to talk to DH on the cruise and tell him how fun wrapping gifts are It would be perfect if someone wrapped the gifts and then I got to do the fun part which IS the ribbon & bows Well I can cuz that's not gonna happen - he's also missing "that gene"

Have you guys heard of the group Straight No Chaser? If you aren't familiar with them, they are an a capella men's group that originated at Indiana University. They were on the Today show earlier this week...anyway...if you get a moment, check out this video! Their rendition of the Twelve Days of Christmas is a riot!
