Corey has posted some more pics of Ferris on Facebook - I do believe that they are enjoying being parents!!!!!

We are renting a car for the entire time....we have a pre and post cruise stay. Just going to park it at the port so we can leave stuff in it that we don't want to take on the ship with us....including our owners locker!!!

So I just saw another thread where the DIS said it's -19°F this morning. Its a whopping 1°F in metro Detroit (-15°F with windchill). The news says -10°F by the end of the week.

I can't wait for winter to be over. I like the chill. I hate the deep freeze. I like snow. I hate dirty piled up snow that invades your shoes.

Praise be to a higher power that it is:

115 Days until "Fun on a Boat!"

If it makes you feel any better it's supposed to be in the 30s here in Florida!! :cold: :cold: :cold:

That makes sense, but is it worth the extra $75 in parking (I think...$15/day for 5 days=$75) plus the rental rate for the days it will sit unused?

I'm so glad Brandie.

That stinks!

How early is early? Are you shooting for the coveted number 2 boarding pass? :rolleyes1

Does stink, but we want to be in Orlando as long as possible. I didn't pay much more than 200 though, so its ok

I'm hoping to have a 2 on my boarding pass yes!!

I'm ok with renting a car, but DH is thinking he'd be happier if we didn't. I'm undecided...i'll probably reserve a car for us, just in case.

Oh...hey Don...did you see the thread about breakfast before the cruise? Check the link in my signature...I can't remember if you declined earlier in this thread or not and i'm too lazy to go back and look...:rotfl:

We are hoping to get to port somewhat early, so we can't make breakfast. Love to join you guys, but we are at AKV and would have to get up pretty early to make that and get to port by 10ish...

It's a balmy 19 in New Brunswick. Factor in wind chill and it's 5!

I'm basically posting this morning just to see my cruise countdown. :cool2: The windchill here is -1 right now and it's snowing like crazy, but that's nothing compared to what's coming in the next two days. It's supposed to be -20 to -25.

We have done the one-way car rental thing the past two times we've cruised with Disney, but we're feeling lazy this time. We aren't doing any special reservations for Palo and we aren't doing any excursions - so there's no need to get there early. We just want to sit back and enjoy the whole ride in a relaxed fashion, so we decided that we're going to use DME from/to the airport and DCL transfers to/from the ship. (VWL the night before the cruise and BVW two nights after it.)

Ok...so what time do they actually start letting you board the ship?

Tracy can correct me if I'm wrong -

Officially - 1:00

However, if the ship is ready, then they will start boarding early - around 11:30 or so.

I've never been on Disney so I'm not sure how they do it but with the other ships I have been on - I've always been on the ship by 12:00.

So what have I missed? I have been gone on vacation since the 2nd. Here are a few pictures of where I have been. Hint it was very warm.

This is our door on the ship. As you can see I turned 40 on this trip.

Ahhhhhh
Thanks for that this morning! Just what I needed!
Happy 40th- I turned the big 4-0 last year, wish I had celebrated it like that!
Glad to see you had a wonderful time!

I think as long as we're on board by noon, i'm good. I had thought that I wanted to be on board UBER-early, but I think it'll depend on our Palo reservations and what we end up getting...if I need to race on board to try and change them, then I will, but right now, i'm going to just do breakfast with everyone and then we'll conga-line our way to the ship! :dance3:

Isn't it about a 45 minute-1 hour drive from WDW to the port? Or am I delusional? :upsidedow

you'll have to check w/ your rental company, but sometimes renting for a whole week is better than a few days pre- and a few days post- cruise. Plus, if you don't want to wait in the (sometimes looong) line for the shuttle you'll have cab fare to/from the rental site at Port Canaveral. Like someone mentioned, coming off the cruise it's soooo nice to just get in your car rather than have to line up to get the rental shuttle and then line up to get a rental.

I just wanted to beat the crowds!!! Everyone tends to get there around 11 or 12 and everything gets bottled up and it can be a nightmare!!

I think if we do breakfast around 8:15 - then we should be to the port between 10-10:30 - that's good for me.

Yes it is about a 45min-1 hour drive!!

Anyone have the link to FL Limo Service? I found a couple but they didn't seem right....

Welcome back Aspen! Love the pics!! We took two pictures while on St. Thomas and St. Maarten that inspired the decor of our house! Well, the downstairs anyway. Before our cruise, our house was very dark...dark colors on the walls...dark furniture...just dark. It was cozy, but I was done living in the darkness...two pictures that we took of the ocean were all the inspiration that I needed! We pulled blues and greens...very light...from the pictures and painted the walls with them. Then we got new furniture...our sofa is a lighter sandy color and all of the accompanying furniture (dining room, entertainment center, etc) is white with the plantation shutter look. We had the pictures that we took printed as 16x20 prints and framed them. And there are seashells decorating throughout the downstairs...it's very light and airy and I love it now!

I can't wait to use DH's new DSLR camera to take more beachy/ocean pics that we can use in our decor! I love having the feeling of a "vacation home" in our house! Constant reminders of the warm sun, sand, and surf are especially helpful in the middle of an terribly frigid winter! :thumbsup2
