All this port talk is getting me excited and a bit nervous.

Anyone staying at the BWV interested in sharing a van/car/limo instead of port transfers? I think I want to get there earlier to avoid the crowds.

Ok...Our plans have changed a little. Actually, much to my dismay. We were booked at the Dolphin, but certain circumstances have forced us to stay on DVC points instead of cash at the Dolphin even though it's a terrific rate.

We are staying pre-cruise at the Beach Club Villas (perfect for the Cape May breakfast). Then post-cruise for 2 nights at AKV (Jambo House).

we'll be at okw the day we leave - is there going to be a convoy heading to the port?

could be fun -

Don't fret Aaron, you are still super close to the action and across the water from us.

I'm 99 percent sure we are getting a limo for around 9ish pickup. We can fit 9 people and only have 6. Interested??

We can get that football game going at AKV for the post cruise. Maybe we can play in the savanna?

Are you sure? Aren't you at AKV? Plus I'm doing breakfast with the gang and don't want you to miss out on your #2 boarding pass. LOL!

That makes sense, but is it worth the extra $75 in parking (I think...$15/day for 5 days=$75) plus the rental rate for the days it will sit unused?

In a word...yes! The rental rate is not much different, 1 longer rental can be close to the same cost as 2 shorter rentals. Also we have done the one way rentals and shuttles etc and don't want to bother with that hassle again! Also we are in a Cat 11, so extra space in the cabin is valuable. We are in WDW for a total of 7 nts in addition to the cruise--I plan on packing just what we need for the cruise seperately, the rest will remain in the trunk.

We also have an Owners Locker, we would have to pay for an extra pick up to have it picked up and dropped back off at the end of the cruise as we will exceed our allowed visits this year. We could maybe leave it with luggage services when we are gone but I would be nervous about doing that.

I guess for us, the extra costs are worth the convenience.

Yea we are at AKV, I'm sure we could swing by and pick you up, but the limo will be leaving by 9ish :)

Welcome back Aspen! Love the pics!! We took two pictures while on St. Thomas and St. Maarten that inspired the decor of our house! Well, the downstairs anyway. Before our cruise, our house was very dark...dark colors on the walls...dark furniture...just dark. It was cozy, but I was done living in the darkness...two pictures that we took of the ocean were all the inspiration that I needed! We pulled blues and greens...very light...from the pictures and painted the walls with them. Then we got new furniture...our sofa is a lighter sandy color and all of the accompanying furniture (dining room, entertainment center, etc) is white with the plantation shutter look. We had the pictures that we took printed as 16x20 prints and framed them. And there are seashells decorating throughout the downstairs...it's very light and airy and I love it now!

I can't wait to use DH's new DSLR camera to take more beachy/ocean pics that we can use in our decor! I love having the feeling of a "vacation home" in our house! Constant reminders of the warm sun, sand, and surf are especially helpful in the middle of an terribly frigid winter! :thumbsup2

Just think, a baby and all that soon not to be white furniture. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Thanks Brandie! I wish I had a DSLR. I may have to borrow my grandmothers for the Podcast cruise. Your house sounds wonderful. It must make the long winters a little more tolerable? I am going to have some of my pictures blown up and put them in my office. That way when it is snowing outside I can just look at them and pretend I am back on the Islands.:goodvibes

It's only 4 days.

Does stink, but we want to be in Orlando as long as possible. I didn't pay much more than 200 though, so its ok

I'm hoping to have a 2 on my boarding pass yes!!

Boarding pass 2 goes to Concierge. Boarding pass 1 is reserved for other uses. Best any non-concierge guest will get is 3.

Ok...so what time do they actually start letting you board the ship?

Tracy can correct me if I'm wrong -

Officially - 1:00

However, if the ship is ready, then they will start boarding early - around 11:30 or so.

I've never been on Disney so I'm not sure how they do it but with the other ships I have been on - I've always been on the ship by 12:00.

Correct. We've always been on by noon. Keep in mind that you won't be able to get in your room until 1 or 1:30 pm.

My heart bleeds for you-
Its friggin 5 here, just not right I say :cold: :cold: :cold: :cold: :cold: :cold:

It's even colder here! Windchills in the next two days to -45 below!

It really is not going to be crowded at all there. I have gotten there very early up until 1:30 or so and never had to wait very long (except when I got there very early because they only open up the doors at a certain time. Once they start letting people on the ship, it goes very quickly. If you come after they start, by the time you check in, you will probably be able to walk right on.

Is that something new? I thought I had 2 on my last cruise.....

Jen are you staying at WDW following the cruise? We are still trying to figure out what to do. We really want to stay around the Dolphin, but we don't have enough points. So, I think we're just staying at the Dolphin, which means we need transportation. We are trying to decide if we want to rent a car or if we want to hire a towncar. We'd be up for sharing, but we are headed back to WDW following the cruise. There are four of us.

We also have an Owners Locker, we would have to pay for an extra pick up to have it picked up and dropped back off at the end of the cruise as we will exceed our allowed visits this year. We could maybe leave it with luggage services when we are gone but I would be nervous about doing that.

John at Owners Locker suggested that we leave our locker at bell services since we too would go over our allowed visits. I'm pretty sure we'll do that. Unless we rent a car for the whole trip, in which case it will go in the trunk. Everything's gonna depend on whether or not any plans are made to get us en masse from the Dolphin to the port. If we're on our own, we'll keep the rental car. We figure we either have to get a town car or rent a car from the airport since ME doesn't go to the Dolphin. If we can work out sharing a ride with someone else, we'll return the rental at the Swan/Dolphin then rent again to get back to the airport. Logistics - hate em.

Are there weight restrictions on luggage for a cruise like there are for planes? We will be staying at the Dolphin precruise and BWV post cruise. If I packed so that our luggage was packed half for crusie and half for WDW, can I leave half of our luggage at the BWV and claim it after we return? I know I've shipped things to resorts before and they've held it. But will they do that with our luggage if we drop it off?
