An amaretto sour was my very first drink...

I now prefer Southern Comfort and 7-UP. Or pineapple juice and Malibu rum. Or lapu lapus. Or amaretto on the rocks.

When I got mine last year, I couldn't even open the box. The 18 year old grabbed it and juust popped it right open. SHe handed it back and I smiled and said, "So what do I do next?"

I swiped swallows of Peach Schnapps from my parent's stash everytime I went down the stairs to the basement...

Just kidding.

But this statement (bold) reminds me of my own teenage story. I was drinking Jack and Coke at a friends house during a sleepover. Her mom wasn't home and I got totally wasted on the stuff. It's amazing I didn't end up in the hospital w/ alcohol poisoning. I don't remember that night (later). I was told I spewed (no chunks, I don't think) all over their stairway going upstairs (yes, it was carpeted) and her bedroom. The next morning her mother was cooking breakfast and I had to hide out in my friends room until I could make a run for the front door. The food smells were making me wanna hurl. To this day, I can't drink hard liquor. This is why I only drink girly drinks and cordials. I can handle beer too but I only drink it for a quick buzz and I can get that with less than one.

That's my story.

I can't drink coolers or beer.
I have gout.
The brewers yeast in beer and the malt in coolers is not good for me.

Sorry to hear that Katherine. A friend of mine has it as does my BIL. They both use colchicine. My friend actually drinks nothing but Guiness stout because any other beer gives him the gout.

I think my DH gets Sam Adams, so at least you know that one.

Sam or Sam Lite would work for me.

Watch Pirate of the Caribbean tonight. I haven't seen it in awhile. I am really enjoying it. I can't wait to watch it on deck 9 in a lounge chair.

It was hard to do that with Carling Black Label.

For me? Pour enough Amaretto in to make it a light brown color. Think caramel color. I this drink. So simple and creamy. Make it as strong/weak as ya want to. It's your drink!

I prefer the Food Lion brand (cheaper and sweeter) but this one is good too.

It was hard to do that with Carling Black Label.

If that is the same Black Label we would drink in college, that was the good stuff. Pils and Schlitz was the bad stuff. Luckily I went to school close to Yeungling before it became popular. That was usually the cheap pitchers at the bars. I still love Yeungling Lager.
