I heard ginger was a more natural way to curb sea sickness.....:confused3

I have a friend that ate ginger Altoids while she was on her cruise. She said they worked like a charm. I'm not a huge fan of ginger... I kind of think of it like I think of parsley... it's decoration for my sushi. ;)

ugh, could i please have a job with no responsibility or stress. i want something mindless please. :confused3

i REALLY need the cruise about now. :surfweb: :scared: These are days when I really wish I could stay home with my son and not work.

i'll have to keep that bonine in mind and try it. I don't usually get prone to motion sickness, but i had horrible morning sickness, and I never want to feel that badly again (thank you zofran for saving me)!

FE gifts are almost done!!! i even took a few pictures of one of them!

I got the patches for DH and I but the kids are too young for that.
So for my DS11 I got these anti nausa wrist bands that is what the Pharmacist recommended.
As for DS who will be 6 gravol was all she could recomend.
Now I have heard people say the wristbands and Gravol don't work,
so I am hoping to find something when we get to Florida that I can give to the children.
They will be 11 and 6 at that time.
If anyone has any suggestions it would be appreciated! :thumbsup2

My DD has been taking dramamine since she was 4 or 5 after she threw up 3-4 times on a drive from MD to NH. There's one that says it's for kids and adults. She's tiny so I'd have to cut the pills in half. Never seems to make her overly drowsy. She 11 now and still gets car sick REALLY easily  so we don't go anywhere without it.

Funny thing is that cruises don't bother her at all. I do dose her up the night before the cruise and the first day but she's done better than the rest of us onbord.

I tried the chewable bonine once and she couldn't stand the taste. The dramamine pills are tiny (even more so if you cut them in half) so are easy to get down.

Hope this helps!

Zofran is SOOOO much better than phenergan. A calm stomach with the ability to hold food down vs. violent seizures. Tough choice.:sad2: :sad2:

Glad you got it.

I'm sure I'll be fine too. I'm usually not a big 'ol chicken, just around water.

Maybe I'll have to start on the alcohol BEFORE I board.

Just keep looking *out* at the horizon. Looking down at the water totally freaks me out.

i was so sick while pregnant (weeks 8-15), that i was on zofran and phenegran both. but my insurance would only allow me like 10 zofran per month (covered anyhow). I was supposed to be taking 2 per day to just get by and manage. Talk about dying. those zofran were like gold. :rotfl: they are expensive though. i tried the ginger root, ginger candy, sour pops, lemon drops, the seabands, crackers, gingerale, all the usual remedies. zofran was the only thing that helped. phenegran made me sleepy- not good for work. :rotfl:

oh and i finally took pics of DS's new Mickey bathroom- thanks Disney shopping clearance! i painted over the existing awful wallpaper we had. and i was finally able to use some old postcards and posters i had for the walls!

That's a nice job.
Great bathroom.
I am now off to take DS11 to school.

The bathroom is sooo cute. Love the Fe gifts too.

Looks great Michelle!!!!:thumbsup2 ::yes:::thumbsup2 ::yes::
Don't let DP hear there is clearance stuff on DisneyShopping....he wants to redo the guest bath in Mickey. And the guest bedroom. And the office. :faint:

I swear by ginger. I used to take Dramamine and it worked but I was so dopey with it. Now I use ginger about 3 days prior to the cruise until a day or two into the cruise and bring ginger candies (make sure they are ginger and not just ginger flavored) and it works like a charm!

lol- that stuff was really cheap too- talking $8 etc. for the towel sets. I think the most expensive thing was the shower curtain at $15. can't barely beat that Target! Dh puts up with a lot of my disney stuff- we have posters/lithos framed in the loft/playroom upstairs and all my disney collectibles and frames are up there out of DS's reach. I have a disney frame or two downstairs, but i try and keep it contained for the most part. oh, i do have some kitchen stuff that is mickey too, including hte mickey head pepper grinder! :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

Dh is pretty good about it, considering he isn't much of a disney fan. I guess he can't complain when he has 'little men' everywhere from his Warhammer games that he paints and sells on ebay. i swear the closet is packed with little men and monsters everywhere in the office. yeah- nerd! :confused3 :rotfl:

Are there Ginger pills? The Less Drowsy Dramamine makes me pretty drowsy. I can only imagine what the other stuff would do.
