Just curious...How many of you veteran cruisers have trouble with motion sickness? I've never cruised before and I don't know how it will affect me. I ususally don't get motion sickness unless the movement is really harsh.

How bad does the motion get? Will I be walking down the hall looking like I just left Route 66 or the ESPN Skyloft?

If you usually don't get MS, you'll probably be fine. I don't think the seas are supposed to be that bad in May. We had a rough final day on a January cruise- I still get nauseous thinking about it.

Honestly, though, it can't hurt to take some (nondrowsy) dramamine at lunch the first day and maybe another dose the next day. But then again, I tend to overmedicate...

I take a less drowsy dramamine before bedtime each night of my trip. I start them about a day or two before I actually leave and then pop one each night when I go to sleep...that way i'm sleeping off the sleepy part of the medicine but still get the MS preventative during my waking hours!

I'll probably try bonine on this trip...

We were on the 3 night in November and the first night was pretty bad. We were actually waiting to get into Animator's Palate and everyone swayed about 5 feet at one time. It was actually pretty funny to watch. I think that the water is much rougher in the winter.

That said it didn't bother me much. I am fairly prone to motion sickness. I can't do Star Tours without feeling a little off for the rest of the day. Mission Space, forget about it. I am going to try to take Ginger Pills this time. I figure they are natural.

I have never had motion sickness. I have been on cruises where the ship has really been rocking. It depends on the weather and also if they need to go really fast they don't use the stabilizers. For people who don't know what the stabilizers are, here is a few links for pictures.

I've been on a cruise where it was like that. Even if you weren't drunk you sure looked like you were.:rotfl: :rotfl:

All that's missing is a tour guide with a flag or in our case, light saber. :lmao:

Only if the seas get really rough.

I was told by a crew member on the Mariner of the Seas that during rough seas, you can always tell who's drunk because they are the only ones walking straight. :rotfl2:

Good idea with the siggie, I'll add it to mine.

Ohh...and thanks Jason ;)

best "Champagne Cocktail" quote is from "Blast From The Past" with Brendan Fraser, Christopher Walken, Sissy Spacek. "I thought only hookers drank those things." "Well, I know Mom sure likes them...":lmao: :rotfl2:

We could all learn Portuguese and pretend to be a BAZILLION tour group!!!

Kevin will be wearing his flight attendant outfit and have a head set. That should complete the Tour Group look.:rotfl:
