Well, I was right about the trauma. Practically nothing from last year fits. Tears were had. I had lost almost 90lbs 6 years ago. Then I gained back 50lbs. And I lost the 50lbs when I was sick. Well, it is all back again. I know I can't lose it all before the cruise (wouldn't that be nice if I could) but I guess it's back to being super point conscious. I guess I need to go back to WW. That's how I lost the 90lbs. Its just so frustrating and I am such a bad eater. I have texture issues when I eat. The texture of most fruits and veggies just make me gag. I have such a weird gag reflex. I know it is mostly psychological, but at 50 y.o. I think I will just have to live with it at this point. Thank you for letting me vent.

Kim
hang in there Kim! WW is great. I am so proud of my mom, she has gone from a 28 to an 18 this year~! she is doing awesome on the point system. I've done it myself before too. I know how hard it can be.

I am a texture person too----it is so nice to hear someone else is. most people don't understand when i tell them that. i dno't even eat salad- i hate lettuce, can't stand the texture. i don't do onions, peppers, mushrooms, tomatos etc. I love anything made with tomatoes if they are blended up well- like tomato sauce, well blended salsa (or i pick around the chunks), tomato soup, heck, even V-8, but i hate tomatoes themselves due to texture. i am so weird. i am glad i am not alone! i am the same way with many fruits, i hate the texture of strawberries, but love strawberry flavored stuff, so i blend them up in smoothies. yeah for texture food people! :thumbsup2

Gonna go now, folks. I've got a headache that came up pretty quick this evening. I'll be back sometime tomorrow after I finish my dogs. Have a good evening!

Where's the Tylenol....

G'nite Dara. :wave2:

lots of cute suits ladies (sorry i am like 10 pages back catching up!):rotfl2: i might have to check out land's end.

i am one of THOSE....yeah, an over 30 that still wears a bikini (i'm 35)! and no, i am not a model, far from it. :rotfl: I am comfortable in it and take care of myself and am secure wearing one, so i do. I think that is why you see many ladies over 30 wearing them, i think the older we get, the more comfortable we get in our skin, no matter how saggy it might be. At least I have, no matter how imperfect it is. So sue me! I work hard (usually!) to stay in shape, although i've fallen off the wagon lately. :rotfl: :confused3 I am sure at some point i will stop wearing one, but for now, i still have a few good years left. might as well take advantage, right? :lmao:

I am actually trying to find a cute one piece or tankini too.

so here is one i found at the gap today- i LOVE green!
ry%3D400

Cute suit. :thumbsup2

Most of my swimsuits are two pieces, not tini bikini, but two piece. I'm not supermodel skinning by any stretch, but I do work out almost every day and I don't jiggle. I am bringing a one piece I haven't worn yet on the cruise though. I like buying suits that are different and unique. I hate it when I go into the swimsuit section and all of the suits look the same as the stuff they sold last year.

Jennie and I just got home from shopping. We managed to pick up a few things. ;) Thanks to whomever posted the JC Penney bathing suits link. I found some really cute ones for DD. :thumbsup2

Yes, thank you from me too. I got two really cute bathing suit tops today. Well, I actually got 3 but I am going to have to return one. They really had a great selection at JCPenney.

JCPenny's, thanks for the tip!

Y'all are quite welcome :goodvibes Happy to finally be able to help!

Chris counts to some number (don't know what) after take off. He feels better after he reaches that number. Well that and the xanex takes effect. ;)
mmmm. xanex. and they said diamonds were a girl's best friend.

Weight loss program is working so far. No/low fat diet and at least 30 minutes on the treadmill everyday. 10 laps up and down the stairs helps too. ;) Wii Fit has me at 148 as of today.
Wow - you rock! :worship: You go girl!!

Wow, I'm so jealous of you both!

Hey Michelle, if you got it, flaunt it!
haha, i don't know about all that, but i figure at some point i won't be comfortable in it anymore. And DH is pretty up front and honest about telling me when something looks bad (and is kinda picky), so far he hasn't told me to hang up the old bikini, so i guess i will stick with it for a little while longer. i am sure after child #2 if we are able to have one, i will have to hang it up. :rotfl: :rotfl2: I'll be wearing a cover up the majority of the time anyhow!

where can you find 'water shoes'? or will flip flops work in the water? I do get freaked out by the creepy crawlies on the ocean floor, so water shoes sound great to me.

Dara- feel better. i've been living on sudafed the last week. i just took some nyquil and will be passing out shortly myself!!! oh, gotta love nyquil!

When I was growing up, my stepdad had a Cessna that we would take to Ocracoke Island on the NC coast. The airstrip was right on the beach. Anyway, my mom would often fall asleep on the trips. Once she was out, my stepdad and I would give each other "the look". He would then push the control forward and we would drop suddenly. My mother woke up screaming each time. :rotfl:Sometimes, he would let me take the controls and I would do it. I loved it!!! My mom? Not so much.

:rotfl:

So I sent the team the question asking if they are planning a guest group photo on the cruise. If they are great! :goodvibes If it poses logistical challenges or cannot be fit in it's still great. :goodvibes We're cruisin'!

Last year I bought water shoes that look and fit like sneakers. I love them. I bought them specifically for the ocean because I hate stepping bare foot on rocks or picky ocean floors. You might be able to find some at a sporting goods store but I found that they don't have much of a selection for women. At least not where I live. I found mine online at zappos. I used them on my cruises last year as well as Blizzard Beach water park. They are great.

Hi Katherine. It's recording on the Tivo now. We're actually playing the Pleasure Island carnival games on the Pinocchio bluray. :cool1:[/QUOTE]

Hey just thought I would let you know I just finished watching stange brew for the first time.
Now I understand some of the things you guys say. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Take off ehhh.....

I think I can get into my swimsuit now, but I want to still be able to get into it on the last day of the cruise. Do y'all want to join me for some aerobics classes on the Wonder? I hear they have them at the spa!

Popping in to say Hi.

Because I am only a little over 5 feet tall, all of the shorts in the misses and even the petite dept come down over my knees and make me look dowdy. .
I have the exact other problem. My legs are too long and every pair of shorts I wear, and skirts too, I look like a ho. I used to get stopped in school all the time even though my stuff was lng enough.

Afternoon, all!

Jumping in with a husband story.

I got married young... had a couple kids (8 years apart) but when my daughter was 2, I realized I wasn't happy and had not been happy for a while. We had a lot of trouble having my now 12 year old... 4 years of fertility treatments and many miscarriages. We quit trying because I knew our marriage was in trouble and that was when I got pregnant with her. I hated feeling like I was all alone even when my then husband was in the room with me.

So..... we divorced. I LOVED being single and I LOVED being a single mom. LOVED IT! I had so much fun on the weekends my kids were with their dad... SO MUCH FUN! :drinking1

Then I met my hubby. I wasn't ready for a "real" relationship because I was having so much fun... but he swept me off my feet. We dated for two years and have been married for just over 5. I am crazy about him... we have so little in common but it works for us. He likes the White Sox, I love the Cubs... he loves to start big projects at night, I like to start them in the mornings... he hates TV, I love reality TV... he HATES Disney, I LOVE Disney.... but it works for us. He takes us to Disney and smiles the entire time and even acts like he enjoys it... and I dress the kids in Sox t-shirts in the summer.

And not a day goes by that he doesn't tell me that I am the most beautiful woman he has ever seen and that he loves me more than a fat kid loves cake.

As for my ex... he is one of my best friends. His wife and I and my husband and my ex husband get along great. As a matter of fact, my ex hubby and my now hubby want to do the Amazing Race together. :)

Anywho... just wanted to chime in... :) My oldest son is home from College for Spring break and he is talking my ear off.

I'm so glad it worked out that great for you!

I'm from the northeast, and thus a "yankee" (no, not the baseball team - that's another story), Val is from the deep south and is a Daughter of the Confederacy. That whirring sound you hear is her ancestors turning over in their graves.

My dad still can't believe I married someone whose "people" came from Boston. Now my DH is from Florida, but they are all from Boston. Yep, sold my soul to the enemy!

OK, I'm finally posting a photo of the dress I bought and will be wearing on the cruise. The tailor who hemmed it for me did a great job.

newswimsuit2.jpg

:thumbsup2

And here is the bathing suit I got last year and haven't worn yet. It will be worn on this cruise. Unfortunately the fabric doesn't photograph very well.

Looks like it has pixie dust on it

Thanks for sharing that story. It's kind of funny, but my dad makes reference to the Yankee versus confederate all the time; especially during sporting events; when 2 teams play; one from the south and one from the north. It's almost like he still thinks the war is going on. :rolleyes1

It's not?:scared1:

I actually found DW some aqua shoes for a bargain.

Good man!

So I bought my first song on iTunes today. Yay!

Good for you! The Twilight soundtrack is very good.

Gonna go now, folks. I've got a headache that came up pretty quick this evening. I'll be back sometime tomorrow after I finish my dogs. Have a good evening!

Where's the Tylenol....

Feel better soon!

Hoser!

:)

Good evening all. We have arrived in Branson. I survived MIL's house. She even hugged me good-bye. I don't think I've hugged her since I got married and that was the only time I ever hugged her. She's really not too bad, I just wish that she thought I was good enough for her son. Oh well.

The trade off is that now internet speed is SLOW! Dial-up would be faster. The girls had fun at the water park at our hotel, and I think that our rude neighbors have finally decided to be quiet.

I got a bit of my Disney fix today at the Disney outlet store. My most exciting purchase was the reusable bags that I purchased. DDs both got swimsuits for the cruise at other stores. They are all ready and set to go. Of courrse, both of my children are skinny toothpicks. I'm not sure where they got that from. DH got a couple new shirts. Me, I got reusable bags.
