First Day Traditions

We usually stay in the Epcot area. We check in and head straight for the UK. A half yard of Guinness, popcorn in Canada (DH's favorite snack in WDW) and mosey around soaking it all in until IllumiNations.

We check in, head to the pool, next day is always MGM lunch at SCI FI period. Our tradition for 15 years now.

We take the 7am direct flight from Richmond to Orlando (one of few places you can fly direct) and arrive at the WL in time for breakfast! Check in (usually can't unpack) and head to DTD to do all the shopping damage for the week (lunch always at Earl of Sandwich). Stop at the grocery store for breakfast items. Get back to WL, unpack, pool time or rest - and then dinner either at Artist Point or California Grill. Oh yea - drinks before dinner at the bar in the lodge - our favorite bartender, Diana, makes a mean chocolate martini!:drinking:

My family has made the trip 11 times since my childhood... at the end of the month will be our 12th... we had a tradition, and I sadly say "had"... we'd take a dawn flight and arrive at the resorts, check in and head to Epcot for lunch at Le Cellier... That won't be happening this time, though... the restaurant has become too popular and we accidentally booked during the free dining period, so there goes that tradition...

We don't have an arrival day tradition yet (we've only been twice), but so far our first park has been Epcot on the day after we arrive. And my kids have requested that to be our first park when we go in Jan. It's not their absolute favorite park, but they like to start the trip out with a ride on Soarin', taste testing in Club Cool and a stop in MouseGear.

well since were leaving in 11 days for the world (staying at wl for the first time btw)

we usually go to mgm and do fantasmic. love the show:thumbsup2

that would be my dream job to be able to watch the show everynight.

only 11 more days till i see it again:cool1:

I always take an early morning flight out. we get there early, ONLY once our room was not ready, we bring on the plane our swim suits, change into them right after chek in go into the pool have fun relax, after the pool a walk arount the hotel, go to the room un-pack. Showered and dressed and off to DTD, we love to do DTD first my DS12 must get to the PIN SHOP. after that I love to look at what new merchandise there is we go to the WODS......we take our time and have los of fun. Then we head back to the hotel, and rest up for the next day.

Just for the record we always do EPCOT as our first park (2nd day)...........and save the best for last MK

We start our trip at the Magic Kingdom and then go to Epcot for the evening, get our 2 favorite parks a visit on our first day.

We have more of a last day tradition or if we are going for just one day we save MK for the last park we go to on the last day, or if it is the only day we are going to be there we go to MK. First we always take the ferry, kind of builds up the excitement, get our picture infront of the castle by photopass and head straight to POTC....and usually end our day with one last picture infront of the castle................Our first day tradition is chef mickeys than putt putt golf

For sharing I have enjoyed reading your post's,some real cool traditions.:goodvibes :goodvibes Danny

I get so excited my first day there that I do anything that pops into my head. Last year I went to Star Wars Weekends for a bit, went to Epcot and rode Test Track and Spaceship Earth, then went to Magic Kingdom to go on TTA and grab a bite at Cosmic Rays, then back to our hotel.
My sister's first day: get unpacked, go swimming, call me a few times and see where all my crazy excitement has gotten me to. We have very different personalities. :P

We always get in early evening so we just check in and unpack and than spend the night at the resort to get rested for a early start the next day. This year our plane arrvies at 10 am so we will be hitting MK and than and than dinner at Wilderness Lodge and than back to MK since they are open till 1 am that day.
