Friday, September 13th

After our late night last night we decided to rearrange our schedule and have a late start. We woke up to Mickey's voice on the phone at 9 am. I actually skipped the morning coffee refill and after a quick shower we were in the car on the way to Trail's End breakfast buffet at Fort Wilderness. Wow seemed like it took forever to get there! Didn't realize we would have to take a bus to get to the restaurant from the parking lot! The buffet wasn't bad. I guess I wasn't all that hungry so didn't appreciate it as much as I should have. It was a good deal considering it would hold us over until dinner time.
After we had stuffed ourselves we decided to head over towards Epcot. The plan was to hit World Showcase when it opened at 11. Okay we were a tad late arriving at 11:30. Since it was the first time there we got a little disoriented on our way to World Showcase. We stopped to buy Glen a different pair of mouse ears as he didn't like the one he had bought on Monday. As well as detouring at Ice Station Cool to escape the heat. Most of the samples were yucky!
We did manage to find our way to World Showcase and of course, patriotic Canadians that we are, headed to the Canada Pavilion. Disapointed to see Chateau Laurier covered up under renovations! Next we headed next door to the United Kingdom where the World Showcase Players were just setting up for a performance. Glen was chosen to be Sir Galahad in their production! What a hoot! He was so cute galloping around on his imaginary horse. We were wearing our honeymoon mouse ears which probably helped him get singled out!
We kept going and wandered through France before sitting down in Boulangerie Patisserie to have an iced cappacino and some snuggled in snacks!
We stopped in Morocco and Japan before decideing we had had enough World travelling for the day. We did not find World Showcase too exciting. Many of the pavilions were just shops and restaurants and not much else. We have a HUGE worl renown annual two week festival in Winnipeg called Folkarama that is MUCH better than World Showcase. (Sorry to any Epcot lovers!)
We decided to double back and see what all Future World had to offer. We grabbed the ferry back to the other side.
Our first stop was Honey, I Shrunk the Audience. We both loved this show!! Somehow we got turned around and went into the Image Works "What if" Labs next. It was okay but we sure didn't spend the recommended hour in there, more like twenty minutes. I think it's more for kids. We went back out and this time found Journey into Your Imagination. It was really cute. Glen thought that the skunk squirt at the end was really corny.
From here we headed to the Land. Glen loved The Circle of Life film as he's a big Lion King fan. There were only like 8 people in the theatre for Food Rocks which was really silly. We took the Licving with the Land tour which was a nice ride but kinda of boring subject matter. At least it was nice and cool and we got to sit down. We headed over to do Body Wars. I got a little nausea afterwards but not too bad. By this time it was getting late so decided to head back to World Showcase.
Fish and chips at the counter by the Rose and Crown was a cheap dinner so we sat there underneath the umbrellas to avoid the sprinkling of rain coming down. We could hear the British Invasion playing while we ate. We headed over to the American Pavilion stopping at Japan on the way. We saw a performace by a musical group which I forgot the name and than into the American Adventure Show. Afterwards I was craving a beavertail so we headed back all the way to Canada for dessert. After polishing off a tail each we thought since we were already on this side of the lagoon we would head over to the Mexico pavilion. By the time we got there we realized people were already lining up for the parade at 8. We snagged ourselves a spot by the railing. Neither of us were impressed weith the Tapestry of Dreams parade. I found it rather repetitive and I didn't understand all those odd creatures. IllumiNations was another story. It blew us both away. WOW!
We would definately be back to finish off what we hadn't had a chance to do but we did decide this was our least favourite park.
Somehow Glen managed to get lost getting back to the ASMu - we drove past the Sports Complex like three times! We kept missing our turnoff!
We did manage to arrive back about 10:15. After filling up the mugs we headed down for a relaxing swim in the pool.
