That was our first dance. It's a little fast, but a great song. I also used a line of it on our invitations & got a line engraved in my DH's wedding band.

it doesn't have to be disney - ours is "all you need is love" by the beatles. some other great disney songs besides "a whole new world" are "a dream is a wish your heart makes," "someday my prince will come," "once upon a dream" or "can you feel the love tonight." these disney songs are classic and very romantic but IMO also pretty cheesy. (and as i say that, im going to go listen to them...) what really matters is that the song has meaning for you and your groom.

Our goal has been to pick songs that we love, not necessarily "about" love. (Even thought I have been careful to make sure arent about any negativity or concerning negative relationships)

My dad is a classic rocker. I told him I wanted him to pick out the song for father/daughter dance. We are going to be dancing to "More than a feeling" by Boston. He loves Boston and I adore Boston (the Band, never been to the city)

Jeff's mother loves Chicago (The city and band ) So they are working on choosing a song from them.

Me and Jeff both love heavy metal, hard rock, alternative... so we had the daunting task of finding a song that fit the bill. Metallica's Nothing Else Matters, just melts my soul. It might be a little fast, but it will work.

Oooh us too!! We have had a pretty rough few years and the important thing for us was to find a song where the lyrics rang true, and aside from being complete metalheads, this song just said the perfect things.

DH and I have come really close to loosing one another, I can clearly remember what I told him as he held my hand while they rushed me into the emergency operating room to try and save my life: "Don't worry, I'll be ok, I have worked too hard and we have survived too much for me to let you go now. Please don't cry".

I made the nurses start crying their eyes off right then, I loss consciousness shortly after and when I heard him call my name again in the ICU I woke up immediately even though I wasn't supposed to be able to.

The song fits very well with what we have gone through, and to me a happy ending is still far off for a time when we have lived our lives together and we can pass on happy, knowing we loved each other and lived full happy lives.
