Hey everyone,
We are taking our first cruise from Port Canaveral to the Bahamas in February 2020. Anyone have any good advice or information?

Hi Kelsey, welcome to these boards! There's a lot of good information here and the best place to start is simply by reading different topics. In the meantime, it will help anyone who might respond to know the ship, numbers of days and who is traveling with you, including children's ages. You'll have a great time planning and a fantastic time on your cruise!

Yay!!! And welcome to the DCL Disboards forum!!! DCL is simply awesome, with or without kids IMO! As PP have said, there is a wealth of info here for you. As you peruse threads of interest if you have more specific questions, post them and the great folks here will give you some great answers! ::yes::

I think the 4 night cruise is a good one as a first cruise. It’s not too long, yet you do get to experience a DCL day at sea which is a lot of fun, for adults and your children!

Thanks! This will be our first ever cruise and i know my DD is going to love it!

My main advice is to not try to do everything; just pick one or two main things per day and make sure to schedule some time for relaxation. Trust me, you WILL be hooked and you will be booking another Disney cruise after this one so don’t try to do everything on the first one.

here's the most basic of info that I can give a first timer ...

Advice for New Cruisers
  1. You Can't Eat It All - but try new foods onboard- if you don't like it your severs will bring you something else - it won't cost you any more money
  2. You Can't DO It All - but sleep is for AFTER the cruise. And I find that I could sleep my cruise away ... the usual gentle rocking of the ship, the comfy beds ...
  3. Sunscreen - Fully, and reapply Frequently ... The Sun :sunny: IS different there than where you live (usually) and especially at the time you are traveling. Sunburns cut down on the fun by A LOT!!

If you would like to see the entire discussion where i pulled this from ... here's the link to a recent thread
