So you are happy to say a 747 is better than a 767 interior because they have an upper class. Your knowledge is obviously boundless. We should do a poll on here with people saying how they travel to their holidays, we shall then see how many people this statement is relevant to, not many i would suspect pay the price of a brand new car to lie down for an hour or two.
Anway enough of this.

I was really looking forward to flying on the Queen of the skies but really pleased that I am on an A330 flight, with even more room than the FCA 763 never mind VS 744. By god the internal US Air 752's have the same pitch as the VS 744's. I am happy to request a lock on this thread to prevent any more remarks that make no sense to anyone.

Ime a bit lost with all this info on 767 & 747, some of you seem to have a little more knowledge on aircraft than the average joe. I suspect that many will feel the same as me that a 9 hour flight is better with a bit more room and after experience of flying in a sardine can ide much prefer to fly witha bit more comfort.

It wasn't about the 767 vs the 747, it is the fact First choice have changed their interior cattle class product (star class) which is currently superior to Virgins equivilant, i cant agree with the fact that you get free drink on Virgin makes it better than charter, whats a couple of quid for a soft drink. A point completely lost of some. I have heard rumours of Virgin changing theirs but that is to be seen.

We book with First choice, could have had the nice shiny new interiors but we get stuck with Excel Airways because First choice dont fly from Newcastle anymore.

The new First Choice interiors look very nice- all airy and light!
................and the personal TV's- it should be illegal for planes to fly without them!!

Does it have to be Newcaslte for a long flight ? i.e. is it not worth getting across to Manchester or Prestwick (without checking who flies from there) for such a big holiday or is this not the USA ?

I'll be interested to read what some of you think about the new First Choices planes - hubby and I are flying with them in October 2005 and possible with my family in 2006. We have just upgraded to the premium cabin as it was only an extra £150 each return!

Yes this is from Newcastle to Florida in July; we "ummmed and arrrrd" about whether to go from Manchester but we decided on Newcastle simply for convenience- those Virgin 747's were tempting!!

Had to put up with an old First Choice 767 from Newcastle which looked like it was made from lego the first time we went so it can only be better I suppose (even though I was spoilt by the Thomas Cook A330 from Newcastle last trip)!!

We decided to fly FC from Manchester and thanks for all the fantasticly topical replies.
We chose FC because not only are they cheaper than virgin and TCD but the seat pitches,seat back tv's etc looked great, hope its all cracked up to what they say it is...oh well florida here we come!

I would be very pleased to be travelling on the Star Class Premier service, they look great and a 9in W/s TV aswell!!

What did you think of the A330 ? We travel on one for our first long haul and I am sooooo excited at this prospect, the 747 may be the Queen but the A330 is the most beautiful plane alongside the 777 in the sky, they look so graceful.

We've booked with First Choice to go in September, so I'd like to hear from anyone who's just back after using the new 767 star class service.

Just back today on 767 star class into Glasgow with first choice.
No other words fantastic, great seat pitch and great seat back tvs too
Great, would go with them again.

We are flying with them to the Dominican Republic in August and have also upgraded to the Premier Class. I think it looks good but I'll report back on my return.

We are also flying with First choice premier class to the Dominican Republic in January 06. Have you ever been to the DR before? We haven't and are a bit apprehensive, We have never been on a "beach" holiday and we don't want to be bored (as we NEVER are in Florida) but equally we want rest and relaxation (which I don't think will be a problem!!) We have also never flown First Choice before so I will be interested to see how you get on.
