First character meal solo?

Am I crazy? I have an 8:10am adr at Tusker House on my solo trip in November. This is my first solo trip, and this will also be my first ever character meal. The primary reason I booked it was so I could hit the safari as soon as it opens...and I was trying to be brave by doing something different.

I am a really shy person, but I have no problems eating in a restaurant by myself. Any tips to alleviate the increasing nervousness I am feeling as the date gets closer?

No!! Not crazy at all I did the same thing when I wanted to get in at MK 1st thing in the Morning I got an ADR for CP... Silly roselark... forget nervousness.. think fun!! rope drop!!! a safari ride!!! the best plan ever !!! And you are at Disney... just arm yourself with a bagful of hellos and a big smile and you wont need anything else!!!

Oh no nervousness needed! You have the freedom to take in the World at your own pace, and truly appreciate every little detail! People will not look at you funny, they will all be too focused on enjoying their vacations. Eating solo at a character meal is no big deal, so no reason to be nervous. If you love the characters, ask the bored dad at the next table to take your picture with them. Or I bet a CM would even offer. You get to sit and eat, and the characters come to you. If you just want to give them a smile and a wave, they will wave back and won't interrupt your meal if you don't want them to. So no worries! Have a great solo trip!

You're going to have a blast!! I've done a few over the years and loved every one of them because it's all about YOU! And character meals are no different. Went to CP a few years ago and when the characters saw I was solo, I was lavished with extra attention. And the CMs will take pictures for you.

Nothing to get nervous about so go and enjoy!!

I always beleived that once you past the Disney marquee you automatically become a child again. Some of my best interactions with the characters have been without kids. Alice gave me great tips on ,"how to get to neverland so I don't have to grow up." If you want to see the characters but do not want to interact let the CM knows when you are being seated. They will mark your table, "No play."

Thanks everyone, I am feeling much better. I think I am actually starting to look forward to it now. I have never interacted with the characters before, not even at the parks, so this will be quite the experience!

I agree with everyone that you will have a fabulous time on your own. However, is you are still feeling nervous about it, I've been to AK several times at rope drop and was able to be on the 2nd safari ride of the day. The first was was always reserved for the family that opened the park.
