me 32 year old Disney fan
DH 34 year old Disney enabler
DS one year old

Well, DH had a rough night, but got up to go to his morning meeting. Remember, we originally were leaving on Wednesday, but extended because my husband had a company meeting. I had to return the rental car to National by 10:08, so off DS and I went to the Car Care Center. Now, I've read posts about people returning their cars to the Dolphin. That would have been very convenient for us, but when I made my reservation with National, they said I had to come to the Car Care Center. I drove over and the shuttle driver from yesterday was in the parking zone and recognized me and the baby right away. He asked if I was just dropping off and I said yes. He took the keys, my paperwork, it was paid for on a credit card already, and told me to just get in the shuttle. He would by-pass the line for me. Needless to say, I gave him a very nice tip! We got back to the YC and just hung out at the pool for a while. We grabbed a bite of lunch at Hurricane Hannah's. DH called by 11:30 to say that he was done with the meeting and on his way back to the YC. He still was feeling queasy, so he rested the remainder of the day. DS and I returned to the room and DS and DH took a nice long afternoon nap while I started packing up.

When DS woke up, DH was still resting. I decided to brave the bus system alone and hit the MK to try to finish up some things we hadn't had a chance to do with the baby yet. Thankfully, I made it to the MK with the stroller, baby and diaper bag without too much trouble. I had a mission: Dumbo, Cinderella's Carousel and Aladdin's Magic Carpet Ride. The wait for Dumbo was 20 minutes. I decided to bite the bullet and get in line. The time actually passed quickly as we talked with the other parents/children. DS was flirting with 3 girls in line behind us!! After Dumbo, we caught the Carousel and then headed over towards Frontierland. We passed LLT and the wait was 10 minutes. I put our name in and then realized that if we ate at the character meal, there would be no time for Aladdin b/c the park would be closing. The CM at the restaurant said the park was closing at 6 pm and it was now 5:30. So, I made the decision to leave the restaurant and head over to Aladdin. We got on the ride and then I overheard another CM say to someone that fireworks were going to be at 6:30. The park was open until 6:30. Oh well. I headed over to the baby care center and fed and changed the baby. I call DH on my cell phone to find out that he was feeling a bit better. I told him that I was going to stay for fireworks and then return so we could just hang out and maybe see Illuminations from our resort. I grabbed a hotdog at Casey's and found a spot between the CP and the hub in fron of the castle. I had another misty eyed moment watching the fireworks light up my DS's face. I'm sorry my DH missed it, but I'm glad that DS and I went. I knew the crowds for the busses would be bad, so I just sat on a bench munching on the fries with my son. Then, we strolled through the emporium. I finally found the "My 1st trip to Disney World" t-shirt for my son. I bought a bigger size b/c I knew he wouldn't be wearing it in Massachusetts in November (who knew it would be 70 degrees in November in New England?) It was getting chilly, so I bought another sweatshirt for myself and then we headed out. I didn't want to get on a crowded bus with the stroller, so I decided to take the resort monorail to the TTC and catch the Epcot monorail and just walk through Epcot back to the YC. My plan worked great, but I forgot that I'd still have to walk all the way through Epcot!!! Thankfully, I didn't have to fold up the stroller though!

We walked through Epcot, enjoying the lights, fountains, ,music etc. My DS learned how to wave on this trip. I think from all of the character's waving. By now, he was waving at the twinkling lights in the trees! As I passed through Canada, I decided to try a Beavertail. I got the chocolate maple syrup one. I have to say, it was okay, but I wasn't impressed from all of the raves that I had read on this board. I enjoyed my dessert in France the other night much better! But, it was another thing that I had tried that was new on this trip.

Through the International Gateway and the YC lobbey and finally "home" to the room. It only too 1 hour 20 minutes to get from the MK to the YC, YIKES!!! At least it was the scenic route!
DH was feeling tired, so we just decided to get an early night. What a week! We had the best time in between all three of us getting sick!

t shirts in New England in November.....or December for that matter.......I haven't done the Aladdins ride yet.....but will definitely try it in April........I LOVE A GOOD HOT DOG.........thanks for the report.......

We never saw the "First trip to Disney World" shirts last fall. Probably a good thing, though, since we spent WAY TOO MUCH $$ on souvenirs anyway. Sounds like you've made some very precious memories with your DS.:)

Sorry that your dh was not feeling well. How cute, though, that your ds was waving at the lights! What wonderful memories you made on this trip.

Sounds like another great day with your DS. I'll bet he looked so cute waving at those lights. :)
