We have booked tickets for the Anaheim angels on the 23rd June. Is it easy to drive and park, we are at a hotel near disneyland or would it be easier to use the shuttle bus from espn zone (only thing i could see as a problem with the shuttle is that it leaves 15mins after the game)

Also, we will be down the coast i.e between San Fran and LA during first week off July and on the 4th July, how hard is accomadation going to be to book (reasonable prices as well) if we are only booking as we go)

Thanks for every-one's help and very exicited as only 6wks till were in LA.

I consider it a very easy drive to the stadium from DL. I've done it twice going from the DTD area to the Pond, which is just a little further than the stadium and it takes me no time at all. Just get onto Katella Ave and head east (if you're on Harbor Blvd. in the same block as DL/DCA you'll make a left onto Katella.) The only drawback to driving is that you'd have to pay parking fees and from what I've heard, the shuttle is cheaper, though if there's more than 2 people, I guess it's a tossup as to which is more. The stadium can empty pretty fast, though. July 23 is a Friday and they generally shoot off fireworks after Friday games, so that might figure into your plans and you might not want to exit the stadium right away. Also, the stadium parking lot is huge, so parking shouldn't be much of a problem. I would suggest getting there 20-30 minutes before game time for the best parking, though. Plus getting there that early allows you to watch warm-up and maybe get some autographs before the game (in my experience, the Angels are pretty good with their fans) and settle in with some munchies before first pitch. Root for the Angels, enjoy the game and hope the Angel are leading but it's close going into the 9th so you can watch Troy Percival pitch. He's amazing.

Parking at Angel Stadium is $8, but it is an easy drive straight east on Katella Ave from the Disneyland area, just a couple of miles. They open the parking lot at 4:30 and the gate at 5pm if you want to get there early enough to watch batting practice. Here's a good link: http://anaheim.angels.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/ana/ballpark/ana_ballpark_history.jsp

Getting out of the parking lot is sometimes a bit of an adventure since 90% of the crowd will be leaving at the same time, but just be patient. ;)

As for finding good accomodations at reasonable prices on the 4th of July weekend, don't count on it. I'd suggest planning ahead for that weekend, but for the weekdays you might be able to get away with it.

The poster is going on June 23rd a game against Oakland which would be a Wednesday. Not July 23rd as you stated.
