First Annual DisBrides Secret Santa: 12/7 see first post!

What do you think about moving the sign up deadline up a little bit? This post has been around for awhile so I think most people that want to be involved are in. With a deadline of the 11th I just worry that it won't be enough time for everyone to receive the info, go out and buy something, and package it up and mail it before Christmas, especially when things start to get a little more hectic around the holidays. What about a sign up deadline by the 7th and you have to have your package mailed by the 17th?

I think Claire is right that it would be good to establish some rules. Definitely for everyone to get delivery confirmation with their package - it's really easy, you just ask for it at the post office and it's an extra 70 cents or something like that. And then you get a tracking number so you have it in case anything happens to the package, you won't be held responsible.

I can't take part but thought i'd offer a little bit of advice. You might want to have some slightly more detailed rules becuase I know the DWB secret santa last year resulted in quite a few people not getting anything and this has also happened on the UK community on the DIS which runs 4 exchanges a year so they have adopted the following rules:

1. To buy a present for no less than £10.00 (before postage) and a maximum of approx. £20. To wrap it up and send the present out between 1st & 15th December
2. To send the present by 1st Class Recorded Delivery (as parcels have gone missing in the past and you are then able to chase it up with the Post Office), if you don't choose this method and the present goes missing, then you must send out another present
3. To reply to the Sent/Received thread as soon as you receive your gift (as it's only fair to your sender), and to post a photo of your gift too
4. You can join this exchange until 25th November, then I will send out your recipient's details (the earlier you join in, the sooner I will send you the details)
5. This exchange is open to all members of the UK Community Boards.
6. If you are unable to adhere to these rules and put the effort in to make these exchanges fun and special, then you won't be eligible to join in any future exchanges

:santa: Have fun everyone and I hope you get great presents!

I like and agree with both of these posts! Just my $.02 :goodvibes

I love BOTH of these ideas and I am going to update the first post. :D

So I just had one suggestion/question!

We can all still update that we received the gift and take a picture of it as well for suspense! But are we opening it as soon as get it? Or waiting until Christmas?

Hmmmm. I think it's up to the individual person! However, I think if you wait until Christmas (like I probably will!) you should just post a picture of the package to prove you got it or something, you know?
