First Aid kits for kids? Need some help.

I do Caravans at our church, its sort of like scouts. I teach the 4th graders.



We are doing our first aid kits tonight. Im hoping they go over well!

I had several parents bring things like Qtips, large bandaids, small bandaids, and antibacterial wipes. I found little mini tool boxes at the dollar store and provided the vinyl gloves and the baggies for the qtips. I also had each child bring 50 cents to tape to the inside of the box for a phone call and will print out a First Aid reminder card on the inside. ( could use some help finding a card like that that I can print out)
We cant use matched in them because they are meant for backpacks, I dont want them taken to school with something they arent supposed to have.

I am going to give them some paints and let them decorate the kit and then we will fill them.



Am I missing anything?

ICE PACKS!!!! Those chemical kinds that you pop and shake. I have a medium sized ice pack in my car, and can't tell you how many times we've used the ice packs at soccer or baseball games.

Update, they were a HUGE hit!!

thanks Deb, I didnt have a chance to go and get them before but I told them they could add it in later.



I was really happy to see the response from the kids.


They had a blast decorating those boxes, then we went through why we had each of the things in there and how we used them and in what order.

The parents were all impressed at how well they turned out.


Next week my friend who is a nurse is going to come and give a talk on first aid and train the kids on how to do the heimlich, they are very excited LOL
