Heading to the world on 11/1 for a quick 5 night vacation with my DH, my BFF and her husband.

We're staying at AKL in a 2 bedroom savannah view villa, and have dinner reservations at Cali Grille, Shula's, Jiko, and Paradiso 37.

Any suggestions on what not to miss on an Adult only trip? I feel like I'm a disney expert with kids, but feeling a little lost with adults!

May I join you for these dinner ressies :) Cali Grille, Shula's, Jiko, and Paradiso 37.

Maybe a Spa treatment for you and BFF while you let the men run off to ESPN, cuz 11/2 is a football day, just letting ya know :rotfl2:

My wife and I did The World on our own a couple of years ago. It was a but different because she'd never been before and it had been 10 years since I'd been.

But we did La Nouba... It was phenomenal!

We ate at House of Blues before hand. I think that would be a fantastic night out when there some live music on.

But I'd guess you can just enjoy doing things at your own pace.

Either way... Enjoy!

Seeing how you are staying at AKL... and have dinner ressies at Jiko...Why not check into the Wanyama Safari. The meal with the wine pairings was awesome.:thumbsup2

Enjoy yourself no matter what you do! We are also "big kids" and go every year and love every minute of it. So nice to be an Adult Mouseketeer :)

First of all FANTASTIC dining choices. You are going to have amazing meals!

As for my suggestion as to how best to enjoy Disney on an adults only trip, I'd say keep it chill! I really enjoy the laid back "resort" feeling of time there without kids. Eating really good meals! Spending more time at the pool! NOT always feeling the pressure to get there at rope drop! Sitting on a bench in EPCOT with a glass of wine and just people watching or enjoying the scenery! Having a leisurely lunch in DTD! Disney can be such a relaxing (YES I said RELAXING) vacation. Just go and enjoy your time. It's going to be awesome, especially with F&W going on. :goodvibes

Well said!! ;)

I agree...it's so nice to just be able to relax, not have to map out this massive park touring plan so the kids can see everything and meet every character. The best times are sitting on a bench or sitting at a bar with a view and just people watching...Disney provides some of the best people watching that can be found.

If you're the drinking type, our review linked below has a ton of advice on where to go/what to drink :drinking1 :thumbsup2

All in all, just relax, take your time and enjoy WDW in a whole new light! Have a great trip! :goodvibes

Thanks for the additional input! Much appreciated.

Yes, we are definitely a group of drinkers. Jellyroles will be a must! I really like the laid back idea, sitting on a bench with wine in epcot sounds perfect. I hope the commando in me can do it!

I'm checking out the safari now....hadn't heard of that before. Thanks!!

My DH and myself are headed there this weekend. We have made it an annual trip to celebrate our anniversary. People think we're crazy going to WDW without our kids but it's such a different experience. We love going to the F&W festival. Some really yummy drinks and good to try. Gotta have my grey goose slush in France (although that's there all year round). I'm reading the two other posts now to get more tips. Have a blast!

DH and I have done several trip without the kids, and are taking a week this Dec. for a vacation just us. :lovestruc

We really enjoy the slower pace, don't be surprised how many things that you see that you never new where there before. It is a whole new experience without the kids.
All your dining options are great - enjoy!!

A few things that DH and I like to do while at WDW and it's just us.

Hand holding is a rule.

Someone already said about the glass of wine and Epcot great choice. There are several great places to sit and watch the world go by, one of our fav's is the fountain in France, also a must is to share a pastry from the bakery in France. Take your time to explore each country without the kids saying this is boring, :cloud9:.

Relax at the pool, we always bring some really good wine( I pour it into a plastic container with one of those freezie things in it ) and roll meat, crackers and cheese and have a picnic pool side, we always pick the chairs that no one wants away from the crowd.

Ride the old school rides - this is one of our favorites, we end up laughing because we know the words or song. Or check out a ride that your kids don't want to ride because they think its 'lame'

Do a character meal without the kids, swing your napkin around get your pic's with the character, you will be surprise how you feel, the magic takes over and you are a kid again.

Do the monorail cocktail trail - stop at each resort have a drink and really look around at the grounds, and the lobbys - the Poly's our favorite.

Have a romantic and magical trip :wizard:

Sorry, to hijack but just had to say this is a great post. I take it you pack the wine in your checked luggage? We're only taking carry ons but I'm thinking the cheese and meats would be great. Can we bring the cheese on board the plane? Thinking we can. I'll just use a bag of frozen peas or something like that to keep it cold.

I also like the monorail coktail train. I have never done that. Any drink recommendations?

Can we bring the cheese on board the plane? You could do a car service with one stop, to pick up what you need, request Publix, great wine section and they have Boards Head meat and cheese just pack a collapsible cooler. Make sure to have your list ready, if you go to Publix.com, find out what store you will be at, you can print your list by aisle which is a time saver. Don;t forget to pack a plastic container for the wine. I do not think that you can take any food items or drinks that were not bought air side on the plane. Thinking we can. I'll just use a bag of frozen peas or something like that to keep it cold.

DH and I normally stick to one type of cocktail, Beer or Wine for the evening. The Poly has some specialty drinks, really any of those are great also a really good Hawaiian beer that my DH enjoys. If you can see if they have room at the bar at Cali grill, sometimes later in the evening you might get lucky and score a seat at the bar, great sushi and they have a great wine list.

Let me know how your trip goes.
