 Planning a BCV trip for the first 2 weeks of December 2004. Question is what are the crowds like? Also our home resort is BCV so we can take advantage of the 11 month window, however we have heard that VWL are fantastic during this time of the year so should we try to go there and risk the 7 month window? I am new to the boards, but find them so helpful. Thanks!:) :earsboy: :earsboy:

It is a great time of year and it will not be crowded. All the decorations for Christmas will be up. You will be able to walk over to see the Osborne Lights. I would not change from BCV to WL if I were you. You will have a great pool there at BCV and with any luck you will be able to use it on some of the days anyway. You can walk to MGM and Epcot and there are a lot of nice restaurants in the area with 5 resorts right there for you to walk to and Epcot you can feast on some great food. WL is isolated and you must bus it to the parks or take a boat ride to MK. The boat ride is nice if the weather is good. At any rate I would suggest staying where you are and have fun right there at your home resort.

We've spent the first or second week of December at BWV the past 3 years (home resort). It's a great time to go! Crowds are low, although DVC fills up fast because of the low points. We like to spend alot of time at Epcot, so it's great to just walk back to the resort.

Welcome to the DIS boards, GoofyBanker!!! :sunny:

You could possibly try to switch part of your stay to VWL at the 7 month window, if you want to.... Make your BCV ressies at the 11 month window, then call again at 7 months and see what you can get. One week at each resort would certainly give you a good taste of each, and the decorations at WL are incredible.

Either way, have a wonderful time!

You'll have a great time. Dec. is when we always go. I've been at other times of the year, May, June and I love Dec. the best!!

Crowds are low and the Christmas decorations are out of this world!!

Yes, WL is beautiful at Christmas, but so is everywhere else on Disney property at Christmas time. I'd definately stay at BCV and visit WL. Of course you could do what Mrs. Snowgod said and try at the 7 month window or even split the trip. But VWL is secluded and you have to take the busses or boat everywhere. You know you can walk to Epcot and MGM.

Either way, have a great time!

I don't know you'll be able to get VWL at 7 months-you'll probably at least have to wait-list. In making ressies for 12/6-12/12 2003 at 10 1/2 months at WDW, VWL was already booked, at least for studios (didn't ask about other sizes).

:Pinkbounc :bounce: I love this board! You can always get such great advice! We are going home for the First time in just a few days 6/20 thru 6/30:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :earseek: How do you guys put the counters at the bottom of your posts? Thanks for all the advice so far.

1st 2wks at Disney - fantastic time to go!!!

Christmas at Wilderness Lodge - awesome place to be!!

I suggest - GO!!! :bounce: :bounce:

I would agree w/ the earlier post of making ressies at the 11month window at your home resort, and then try to switch at the 7th month window. This way even if you don't get to switch, you have your ressie, and you can always just go and see the decorations at the other resorts!!
