Firm Thread Augugst 1-31st

Got in Taebo Calorie blaster one more time before I send it back to Netflix. This is gonna be a tough weekend as we have DS's bowling party tomorrow and a day by the lake on Sunday. Which means pizza, cake, chips etc.!!!

Hi FIRMies!

No real exercise to speak of this week, but I added 285 minutes to my exercise log by cutting the grass, cleaning the kitchen, bathroom, and living room, ridding my yard of weeds, scrubbing floors, and doing laundry. And that's all within the last 24 hours! I am sore! :headache:

Rest day for me. Slept a little later and have lots of running around to do before the "big" bowling party for DS.

I was just thinking about Kim yesterday. I hope everything's OK with her. Hopefully she'll check in soon and give us an update.

Anyway, yesterday I ran 4 miles. My average speed for the last year or so has been between 9:45 and 10:00 minutes per mile. Ever since I started doing IMAX2 with Cathe my speed has been steadily increasing even though I don't run any harder. Yesterday I averaged 9:06 per mile. I'm certain it's the interval training from IMAX2 that's increased my cardio capacity.

Today was JFArms, JF Buns, and the ab add-on from Ultimate Calorie Blaster. Tomorrow will be a much-needed rest day.

Hey guys quick update. Just got a PM from luvmydogs and she's been sick (lots of that stuff she's told us about). She's feeling pretty bad about herself so send lots of pixie dust her way and positive thoughts.

Today was a power walking day and 30 minutes of weights and abs. Today started my "30 Days of Exercise to my 30th Birthday Challenge." I need a shorter title. :laughing:

Rest day for me today. Even though I know I need a rest day, I still feel like I should workout. Planning to do IMAX2 tomorrow.

Well I took another rest day, slept a little later and was just enjoying coffee and reading the paper. The day by the lake was great but well apparently in my world chips and brownies do go together. So for penance I did the whole of the Kathy Smith power step tape and I have to say I really liked it. She broke it up into three sections so you could do it at your pace. This is a really good step tape and I really, really needed a calorie burner this am. With the humity in the air I was dripping in sweat. I don't think I'd buy any of her tapes but I would definately netflix some of them. I'm just to hooked on the firm instructors and taebo.
 
Good afternoon ladies!! I did Body Sculpt with Jen (haven't done this in ages, what a great workout) and I did adv. cardio blast with lisa. 80 minutes in today!!!!!!!!!!!

Today I did IMAX2. I really enjoy this workout, although those plie jacks in Interval 9 still have me gasping for air and my quads burning. I felt so energized afterwards.

So I was going to be good and not order any Cathe tapes until September. Then I saw someone on the Firm Ya Yas Swapmeet offering 2 of the DVD's on my wishlist for a good price. Well, what could I do? :confused3 I HAD to buy them. :teeth: So I am now the proud new owner of Low Max and Step Blast/Step Jump and Pump. DH just laughed when I told him about my purchase. He said "I knew you couldn't hold out 'til September."

With fear from threats of bodily harm from s&k'smom :hyper: I wanted to come on over and give you all a BIG HELLO and I MISS YOU GUYS!!! I'm so happy to see that everyone's doing so well with their workouts and committments! :cool1:

I honestly will try to keep this as short as possible. :rolleyes:

I had a really bad kidney infection back in July, and somehow the e coli bacteria that caused it has spread to my pelvic cavity. My cervix, fallopian tubes, ovaries and uterus are infected. I've been on several antibiotics, steroids and pain meds for a few weeks now, and after going back to my OB/Gyn today, she has me continuing on the meds for another 20 days. Good news is, my fever is almost gone and I'm feeling better. :banana: Bad news--with all the steroid use, I've gained 13 pounds in less than a month. All my clothes are tight and I feel gross. I am still not allowed to exercise, but I have been taking some short walks after I take ds to the bus in the am. I tire pretty quickly, but just feel the need to do *something*! I don't even think I could make it through a Cathe warm-up right now! I am going to have some major weight to lose once I'm through will all this nonsense! And I hate, HATE, HATE the feel of tight-fitting clothes! :mad:

I have an ultrasound scheduled next Tuesday because of a large ovarian cyst that was found during a previous pelvic CT scan; and then I have an appt. with a new Dr., a nephrologist, next Wednesday to investigate all the kidney stuff further. I *really, really* hope that this will give me some insight as to what needs to be done as far as a treatment plan. So far, all the other specialists seemed to have been wrong. My fingers & toes are crossed. :)

Oh Kimmie- I'm so sorry you haven't been well. That all just sounds so awful. Please know I'm adding you to my prayer list and I hope you get better soon. Don't worry about the extra pounds for now. Please just work on getting better. I know you and I know the weight will come off easily with all your hard work and committment.


Today at lunch I walked 2 miles. Tonight after WI I plan on either running or doing the FIRM. Probably the FIRM. I'll post later tonight.

I am thinking of you and praying for you also. Please just concentrate on
getting better. The weight will be a problem for later. And all of us FIRMies will be here to listen and support you.

I hope all goes well with the new MD. Hopefully he can figure it out!! Stop in and let us know how you are. Everyone was concerned and missing you.
