Firm Thread Augugst 1-31st

I've been waffling about this all day ... but I think today is going to be a rest day. I've got a bit of a strain to my right hamstring/inner thigh. I was trying to just be careful when I stretched and stuff, and it seemed ok. Yesterday I walked across the kitchen floor right after the dog was slobbering his water all over the tile, and my foot slipped akwardly ... of course I immediately felt it in my leg. It's not horrible, but I can definitely feel it.

I worked out a schedule of workouts for the month of August and I'm on track to get in about 810 minutes of FIRMing ... I can still meet that goal if I take tonight off ... I'm also hoping a day of rest will keep me from doing more damage to the muscle.
 
Morning Firm yoga should be in todays mail and I can't wait to try it.

Today I did Taebo believers workout. Now this is a good dvd, goes through all the classic moves and then speeds it up just a tad. I would recommend it for someone just starting out. Butttt as in the title "believers" there is a Christian twist to it and Billy does preach a little bit so if you don't mind that it's good.

Today was Total Sculpt - the Abs with Jen. I don't care for the ab section in this video (hurts my tailbone) so, I decided to skip it and do FIRM Abs Day2.

Hi everyone. I did Complete Body Sculpting and part 3 of Firm Abs today.

tracy, I don't care much for the ab part of Total Sculpt either. I don't feel like my abs get much of a workout, but usually I'm too lazy change DVDs.

The rest day yesterday did me well ... my hamstring is feeling MUCH better. And this is after Complete Body Sculpting with Christa :banana:
 
Well Firm Yoga finally came and got in about 15 minutes when DS woke up. So I got in a bit of a stretch so I'll try again tomorrow. It's funny now that I'm eating so much better having rest days doesn't seem to painful. Nothing to work off.

Total Scuplt + Abs this am. I agree with Tracy and Norma, the abs workout
is Blah on this DVD. Don't feel anything in the abs until she goes horizontal on the floor, and that section is so short. I am almost at the end of week #3 of firming 4x week and am on goal so far... :cool1: .

Good afternoon everyone!!!!!!!! I did Cathe Kickboxing this morning. I felt that if I didn't do something to really energize my body, I wouldn't have worked out. I'm going rest and enjoy the rest of my Saturday!

Hello fellow fun-lovin' firmies! :cool1: Ran this morning; had to cut my usual 4 mile run down to 3 miles due to pain in the ligament/tendon? (always confuse the two) behind my knee. I was so disappointed because I was running at a good pace and feeling great when the pain kicked in just after 2 miles. Did JFAbs when I got home from my run.
 
Hello fellow FIRMies :wave: Hope everyone had a GREAT Saturday. I got in Fat Blasting Cardio tonight. Hammy's feeling GREAT. I'm so glad that I rested that one day and didn't overwork myself.
 
Morning firmies, got in taebo cardio circuit which I love. Will try firm yoga again Monday am.

Just completed Fat Blasting Cardio with Lisa. Have a good Sunday evening. Cannot believe the kids start school on Tuesday..Summer's over.

Wow your kids start early, mine do not start until after labor day.

Finally got in Firm yoga, I think this is a good tape I just don't think I'm a yoga person. I like to sweat alot though I did break a sweat I'm definately an aerobics person. But I would recommend this for someone who needs a rest day but still wants a good stretch and tone tape.

Yep, they finished June 1st and go back August 9th. Very short summer. They attend a Catholic school and it follows the public school calendar. For some reason, the public school teachers voted to start early and as a result we finish about Mid-May 2006. I wish they would just leave it alone and quit changing it year to year. 2nd and 3rd graders this year. Time is a flyin'.

I took the day off to spend it with them and plan on FIRMing later today. I also have to take the younger one to an ENT this afternoon to see about possible removal of tonsils. You think we could have done that earlier in the summer, BUT NOOOOO...here it is the day before school and here we are.

This was a very busy weekend for me so I didn't get a chance to post my workouts:

Saturday: 30 minute walk

Sunday: Walk/Jog/Weights: 45 minutes

Monday: FIRM's "Daily Dozen" from the Benson's book FIRM for Life: 35 minutes (3 circuits)

Good afternoon ladies. My children are also ready to go back to school. They start on the 15th. This week is a bunch of getting ready. meet the teacher night is Thursday, plus all the PTA stuff I have to do this week. This is gonna be a long busy week for me!

Today was Cathe's supersets. Great workout. Now I'm off to find something for lunch!
 
This morning was Maximum Cardio Burn + Abs. I think tomorrow will be a rest day.

DS starts school the day after Labor Day. Starting in August seems so early. It's still summer.
