Good morning FIRMies!
I just finished Complete Aerobics and Weight Training w/ Emily this morning. The workout went well and I feel like I am back on track. I can't believe this is week 7 of the FIRM check in! :crazy: At the end of this week, I will be adding my three month exercise clippie and I am very excited about that!::yes::

This morning I did cardio sculpt blast with Lisa Kaye and feel wonderful!!!! I just love working out with the FIRM.

Oh, I don't think I posted to the FIRM thread yesterday that I lost 2.5 pounds for the week and I'm just 2 pounds from claiming a beautiful 50 pound clippie!! Woohoo!!!:bounce:

Sorry I didn't start the thread, as promised, but both DSs had to go to walk-in hours (translation SICK) at their doctor. DS(16) was cleared for school (& baseball) suffering from a hacking cough (para-petussis?) and DS(9) is home with me, suffering from "something" viral. He's well enough for me to squeeze in Cardio Sculpt Blaster. I'm improving with this workout, but I'm still not enjoying it as much as you, ZerasPride. Today, I took the time to go back thru the tape & practice the heel-rock w/ no weights. I'll hang tough with this tape.
Congratulations (in advance, because I know you'll do it) to toystoryduo on your 3 month exercise clippie. I just ordered Complete Aerobic & Weight Training. Hope I like it as much as you do!
A big cheer to ZerasPride--you are just peeling off those pounds. Seems as soon as you get your clippie, you're onto another one.

Hi Everyone,

This morning I did FIRM Upper Body with Janet Brooks and Cardio Sculpt Blaster with Lisa Kaye. Today was supposed to be my Sculpt day, but I decided to do upper body only to give my knee another day of rest. I didn't want any lunges, dips or leg presses. It's feeling much better today.

Got a PM from Kim (Luvmydogs) today and she said to tell everyone hello. She has been reading the posts, but unable to post.

Sue- Hang in there, you will get the hang of it. Hope the family gets better soon. Everyone seems to have someone at home who is sick.

Lisa, Congrats on loosing this week. Woo hoo!! You go girl. You are doing so terrific. Sounds like you were up with me doing Cardio Sculpt blaster!!

Tracy- 3 months!! Way to go! You are doing such a fantastic job.

Keep up the great work everyone.
 

Hi FIRMies

My cold is finally completely gone!!! So today I did both the treadmill and Super Body Sculpt ( that way I got in both my treadmill training which was my cardio for the day and my sculpting ;) ) I have a busy 2 weeks ahead with Easter and then DD being off of school for a week and having to run her to a freinds before work so I'm not sure how much exercising I'll get in but I'm ceratinly going to try and get in my 3 Firm workouts a week and 3 treadmill days also even if I have to do both in the same day like I did today. My legs were a bit sore after I finished though ;)

Tracy, congrats on the 3 month exercise clippie!!!! That's great!! Keep it up.

Sue, I hope your boys get well quickly! The colds in our house lasted about a week with a few of those days feeling pretty blah. Hopefully these illnesses will pass through your house quicker than that!

ZerasPride, great job on losing 2.5 pounds last week and being so close to that 50 pound clippie! That is awesome!! After reading how much you like Cardio Sculpt Blast I'm really going to have to give that DVD a try one of these days soon!

Melanie, you are such an inspiration, 2 FIRM tapes in one day, wow! I hope your knee heals quickliy!

Hope you all had a good weekend. My weekend was nice, but not a whole lot exercise. Did AS with Lisa on Sunday night though. I mostly spent it relaxing, and try9ing to figure out a good schedule for all my tapes now that i have 4. And I've decdied that at least for now, the WATP tape will no longer be part of my usual rotation like it has been the past few weeks. i learned last week that it is too much when i add it to BS or CS. I love the weight work, but these Firm tapes kill me enough as it is LOL. So i have decided that since i can reasonably complete the Upper body part of the sculpt tape, that I will add that onto my CS days and alternate CS with the Lower body part of the BS tape. Though i have to say the Lower Body part really kills me even after the 10 minutes i do, and I'm not even sure its a full ten minutes.

Anyhow: TY to all who congratulated me on my new measurements. I'm really thrilled with most of them . And on top of the measurements I've earned my 4 month exercise clippie, which is nothing short of a miracle lemme tell ya::yes::

ZerasPride: Congrats on your 2.5lb loss. I hope you reach that 50lb clippie in your next weigh-in.

Melanie: Hope your knee heals soon so you can do your full workouts.

Forgot to mention that today was a CS(13 minutes) and Upper Body part of BS tape today. Had a short rest in between tapes, long enough to get my breath and have 64oz of water. Felt great when it was all done.

Excellent going Zeraspride. Well I didn't get picked for a jury so I'm back at the office. My new tapes arrived in the mail, it was a 4 packed-standing legs, 5 day ab, upper body and one more. It sure was interesting. It was the older tapes which are good not as good as the newer ones but I was glad that I had mastered some moves from the news tapes as I had some idea as what they were doing. Got in about a half hour of work before DD wokes up. Is it really 7 weeks!!!

After I did Cardio Sculpt Blaster yesterday, guess what arrived? My new DVD, Complete Aerobics & Weight Training. I previewed it & I'm a little intimidated. I'm not going to attempt it, for the first time, before work. But I'm off on Friday (Good Friday) and barring anything unforeseen, it will be me & Emily. I did Ab Sculpt this AM & I'm going back to Cardio Sculpt Blaster tomorrow morning. In my preview of CA&WT, I saw some similarities in moves between the 2 routines, so hopefully CSB will help me w/ CA&WT.
I'm a little undecided about tomorrow's tape. Definitely, sculpting and I'll probably decide based on how quickly I "pop" out of bed.
Good to have all of you back. I felt a little lonely towards the end of last week.
Melanie--Thank you for the tip about overstock.com. I was really pleased w/ the site. CA&WT came quickly & you can't beat $1.40 for shipping. I'll definitely use the site again. Inside my CA&WT DVD was an offer for a free 30 day try out of FIRM Believers Club. Maybe this weekend!

Good Morning Firmies-

Today was Super Cardio Mix for me. I was suprised I didn't sweat more. I seem to sweat more doing Lisa Kay's new Fat Blasting Cardio and that is only 35 minutes. Not sure why, but Lisa's new cardio is such a good workout for such a short time. Super Cardio is over 60 minutes. While I was doing it, I was thinking I must be crazy because there were so many plyo's. I need to find out why Plyo's are so good for you. Anyone know??
My knees faired ok though!! And I know that when I put my clothes in the dirty clothes hamper they were very soaked, so I must have worked up a bigger sweat than I thought.

Sue- You will do fine with Complete Aerobics and Weight Training. Its such a fun tape!! I like Overstock too! I am amazed at how quickly they ship and how cheap the shipping is!! They were just as quick as Collagevideo.

S&K's mom- Thank goodness you didn't get picked, course maybe you wanted to be away from work!! I have the 4 pack tape too, and I agree that the old stuff is funny to watch. I haven't tried upper body or tough tape. I have used 5 day abs several times and tried standing legs once. I didn't get very far with standing legs due to that was around the time I had hurt my knees originally. Once my knee gets stronger this time I want to try it again.

Octoberbride-I think that is a great rotation. You will be doing upper body and lower body on alternate days and it will not overtrain your muscles that way. Keep working on CS. You will be able to do it all eventually. Just keep working at it. Try making it just a little further each time. You are doing fantastic!!

Cheryl- So glad your cold is gone!! Whoo hoo!! Sounds like you had a good workout session with the TM and Super Body Sculpt. How do you like Super Body Sculpt. I haven't tried that one yet. Since I typically do one sculpt tape per week, its tough getting them all in. Somehow I have to find a way to work that one and Super Sculpt Blaster in.

I just rejoined WW and am fairly new to the firm. I have the Total Sculpting system 2 and ahve done all the tapes at least once. My FIRM goal is to do a full length workout 3x per week and my abs video an additional 2x for a total of 5 days and 4 hours. How often does everyone else workout? What kind of results have you had from the Firm? I'm definatley trying to firm up.
 
I'm losing it or something today. I typed a long e-mail message to you guys and it disappeared on me. :(

I want to say how wonderful you all are doing and how inspirational and encouraging your support is to me.

Today I did BSS1 body sculpt lower body and did my first ever real "boy" push ups. I was up on my toes and pushing my body weight up and down with the strength of my arms. It was a wonderful and kind of scary feeling. I'm proud of myself. I could only do 6 and then went back to following Libby with the girlie push ups but I have never done a real push up before in my life!

christinadei- welcome to the FIRM! I work out 5 or 6 days a week. My work outs are usually 30 to 40 minutes long. I have seen wonderful results combining the FIRM and South Beach together. In 4 months I have lost almost 50 pounds and over 30 inches off my body. I think this program is just wonderful and almost can't believe my results! I am a true FIRM believer!!!!

Christina~ Welcome to the FIRM! This thread is posted weekly and you will find some great information and lots of encouragement. ::yes:: Your workout goal sounds like a good one. I generally try to get in at least 3 cardio workouts per week, 1 sculpt workout, and a separate abs video 1 per week. I may be mixing up my routine soon for faster results. Again, welcome fellow FIRMie!

Lisa~ Woohoo! You are doing a great job with South Beach and with your FIRMing!:Pinkbounc You'll have that shiny new clippie soon and we will celebrate with you!:jumping1: :jumping1:

Melanie~ You are doing a fabulous job with the FIRM! I'm not sure what the point of those plyometrics are either. In high school, we did something similar to that for cheerleading and gymnastics and the thought was that we would build strength in our muscles and it would help us to jump and leap better. I haven't added plyos to my workout yet, but hope to soon.

Sue~ Have fun with Emily! It is a great workout! Challenging at times, but a workout that will get results. Keep up the good work!

Good morning firmies, well today I did standing legs and OMG did I feel it. I have to admit it's rather cheesey, the music was too loud and lord way to much lycra buttttttttt do you get a work out. Started to do part one of the 5 day abs but DS got up. I really felt like I worked out today. And my cold is finally gone!

It was back to Lisa Kaye & Cardio Sculpt Blaster this AM. Still not a great performance, but I'm getting better. Tomorrow, I'll return to a sculpting tape.

I am the proud owner of the FIRM 4pk. that you just received. They were my first FIRM tapes. Standing Legs is a killer. I actually abandoned that tape for a while & concentrated on Upper Body & Tough Tape 2. I've gone back to Standing Legs recently, but I still don't use the ankle weights for fearing of being debilitated the following day. While I'll always have fond memories of Upper Body as the first tape that I mastered, my favorite is Tough Tape 2. The whole FIRM presentation has become much more polished, since the 4 pk., but those 4 tapes still provide a good workout.
Sounds like everyone is doing well. Keep up the good work, FIRMIES!

Hey FIRMies- Good Wednesday Morning!

Today was Total Muscle Shaping! I heavied up as usual and on the portions that I couldn't lift the 10lb weight after a few reps I would re-wind and do it all over again with 8lbs. That really helped. When I could not finish with 10lbs, because my arms just couldn't push I didn't feel that good fatigue at the end. By going back and doing it with 8's after the 10's it really gave me that good feeling where I felt like I worked my arms. My arms feel so strong and fatigued right now. What a good feeling. I also went back and did the floor ab work again, because the incline ab work is difficult for me because you have to use your arms to keep yourself from sliding off. Still working on that!! But at least by doing the floor part twice, I at least felt I got a good workout.

Also, my shoulder felt better today. I am thinking that maybe after using the new 4lb medicine ball in Super Cardio Mix yesterday and then doing the jumping jacks I just fatigued or slightly pulled my right shoulder muscle. Lucikly it was not sore this morning! My knees also felt really good today, but I still watched my lunges.


S&K's Mom- Yahoo your cold is gone!! Do your knees hurt after Standing Legs?? That's my biggest fear and why I am afraid to try it. I hear it is a killer, and it always gets voted as one of the toughest FIRM tapes.

Tracy-Hope your having fun with Allie. I love the abs on that tape. I love the hiccups and boy do my abs burn during them. I swear I have to force myself to complete all of them!

Lisa- Congrats on the Boy push-ups. I try them sometimes too, and I usually can make the first set till they change the tempo by going the opposite way, or doing 2 counts. I have to go back. Today I did do ALL of the incline pushups in Total Muscle Shaping. Usually I quit when there are 2-4 left. It felt good to do them all! I really don't like push-ups but I keep thinking when I can do them good maybe I will!

christinadei- Welcome! I do WW's too! I love it. The FIRM is such a great thing to do in addition to WW's. I saw the best results when I added the FIRM! I work out 6 days a week, nothing but FIRM. I usually do Day 1 - Cardio & Sculpt, Day 2-Cardio, Day 3-Cardio & Sculpt, Day 4- Cardio, Day 5- Sculpt, Day 6 Cardio and then keep up with that same rotation making sure I have a cardio day in between each sculpt/and or Cardio & Sculpt days so I don't overtrain my muscles. The 7th day is my rest day.

Melanie C-yup it's a really tough tape (standing legs). I'm glad I've been firming for a while as I modified a couple of things. I can definately see people maybe doing half the tape then the other half. If you have knee problems etc. You definately want to take it easy and work up to it. (I like it because my goal is to lift my fanny a bit before our Oct trip to the Poly-I want to wear a bikini!)
 
Thanks for all the warm welcomes. I did Total Sculpt last night but didn't finish:( It was my first workout in a while and the first time using the sculpting stick (I didn't ahve one before). Man does that thing make a difference. Anyway, Thursday I plan on doing another whole DVD, probably Complete Aerobics + Abs or something. I plan on doing my 60 minute workouts on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, with the 30 minute ab workouts on Friday and Sunday. I have a late class on Mondays and Wednesdays, so I usually don't have the time or energy to exercise. I'll try to squeeze them in so that maybe Friday I can take a day off since we normally go out. Anyway, this is a great thread!:bounce:

I just finished the BS tape with Jen. As usual i couldn't finish the Lower Body part, but after a rest and some more water I did the LowerBody cooldown and then the Uper Body part. Up till now my knees have not liked the tape(right knee hates it more than the left, probably cause i dislocated it as a kid), But i promised to ease them in and they are starting to go along with me slowly. Slowly is fine.

Did AS last night and I have to say i like this tape more each time i do it. And i feel my abs work harder each time too. But its good thing I've done Pilates for so long or i probably wouldn't be able to finish that tape either.

OK Question:

I'm an right on the verge of my 10lb clippie. I adjusted my breakfast a little bit in the morning so I'm eating less calories to start off with and its doing great cause I'm still eating enough. Anyhow, last night i noticed I was only at 282lbs. In the morning I had weighed 281. (I weigh daily when I'm expecting Aunt Flo, she's due any day) So i was excited and expected to claim my clippie this morning. I get on the scale and it shows me back at 281(B4 breakfast). Surprising but I go ok, and go about my stuff. After finishing my workout I get back on the scale just to see, and now I'm at 280.5
Has this happened to anyobody else? I normally gain during the day and lose that in my sleep usually. Not lose half a lb. Its confusing the heck out of me.


christinadei: Welcome to the thread. i think this is my 4th week here and I love it. Don't worry about finishing the tapes yet. I can't finish all of them yet either. I just try to go a little farther each time. B4 we know it, we'll have all the tapes down.

Hi Maureen,

You lost water weight after your workout. I try to drink 1 cup of water prior to exercising and 2 cups afterwards. I actually gain a little when I weight myself after exercise because I am drinking more than I lost. I find that sometimes I weigh less after work around 5 or 6 pm than I am in the morning. It depends on what I eat in the afternoon. Hang in there, its going down. Exercise can also make your body hold on to water. My WW leader says not to exercise prior to getting weighed in. Actually she says not to the entire day. I do exercise at 5am on WI day and loose. Lost 1.6 pounds on my Monday WI this week.


christinadei - I agree, don't worry about finishing the tapes. It will come in time. Just keep working at them. Your schedule sounds great. Remember that if you start feeling really tired, fatigued, depressed etc. Give yourself another rest day. Thats a sign of overtraining.

S&K's mom- Thanks for the low down on Standing Legs. I think I may try it this weekend when I have time to do it nice and slow.
