fireworks question

We like to watch from Main St. in front of the Candy Palace or Coke Corner. You can show up just a few minutes befor show time and have a great view.

I have never found that you could show up just a few minutes before and get a good spot. Maybe if you are solo. If you have a family or group I would suggest arriving 30-45 minutes early.

As for location you will get lots of advice. If you are seeing it for the first time, it is fairly unanimous that you should see it from the hub or somewhere far down Main Street. But where to be specifically in the hub elicits lots of suggestions. IMO if you are in or near the hub and can see the castle, you will be fine.

Personally I do not like being too close to the castle because it is harder to see the fireworks and effects behind the castle. So we like being on the other side of the hub out in front of Coke Corner. If the hub was a clock and the castle was at 12:00, the spot I like is at about 7:30 or 8:00. Just be sure there are no trees obscuring your view of the castle. If you can see the Matterhorn too that is a plus.

Finally, be sure to follow "HydroGuy's Fireworks Rule" www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1199851

We always find a spot pretty much last minute for the 3 of us. But that is one of the perks of going when the crowds aren't too big. If your going during Spring break I'd get there a good 45 minutes early. We like right in the front of the castle.

We've always been near the hub in front of the castle, I'm curious though, what happens behind the castle?

:teeth:

I would say to find a spot where you can see the facade of the castle and the Matterhorn, as there are projections on them. Also, you want to be 'centered' so you can see the fireworks as they frame the castle.

The best spots, in my opinion, were already stated in the previous posts.

LOVE the Disneyland fireworks. I took video of them from in front of the castle...but I probably should have stood back a little farther (maybe on the other side of the walt statue) because it was hard to get the super high up fireworks into the shot. The video still turned out pretty great. But I got my spot for the fireworks about an hour or so early that night.

Fireworks?

LOL well duh.....I just remember hearing people talk about effects behind the castle. Or am I thinking Small World? Anyway, maybe I'm crazy but I thought I had read that there are different effects on the back of the castle or Small world? Sorry.

The front of Small World has images projected on it during the fireworks.

Thank you Mrs. Bee. I knew I had read about something going on back there but had no idea what it was. Is it similiar to what one would see in front of the castle?
