Fireworks Mishap - Wrong Information

Free tickets? Nice! They took away the cheese sauce in MK. I knew I should have said something!! :rotfl2:

Never ceases to amaze me what people complain about these days. Is there such a thing as "higher" maintenance??

I can't believe anyone would expect something for not be able to see Wishes- and accept it too.

What do you think that a CM can do about it? The decison wasn't theirs to make. If it ruined your entire day that is your problem. There are so many people who deserve "free" tickets to Disney Like sick children from "Make a Wish". I can't believe that Disney gave you free tickets for that.

Next week maybe they will let me stay late at the park because the airline changed my flight times, better yet, maybe Delta will give me free airfare.

Hey, I was there Sunday and it said Hallowishes on the schedule. I was very excited, since I've seen Wishes many times -- I hadn't missed the Halloween show! But it was the standard Wishes display that we saw. It never occured to me to complain, based on the little asterisk about changes without notice. All fireworks are good. and what was the point of ruining my own enjoyment by investing so much energy in disappointment?

I know that it was a last minute change that they made, because it was listed as a news item on several fan sites that starting 10/15 thru Halloween, the Hallowishes fireworks would be shown every night. I think it was probably to bring it more in line with what occurs when you get close to Christmas, when the special Holiday version of Wishes is shown every night, not just at the MVMCP. I know it can be frustrating, and the customer service at the time could have been better, but there is so much else to see and do that I would never let one little thing (or several) ruin my vacation!

I guess I don't understand what she expected a CM to be able to do about it. They aren't in control of any of that. What could they do? Call the people who do control the fireworks and tell them that someone expected a different show, so change those fireworks asap? I just think that anyone who gets so upset that they are still angry the next day, must not have experienced much disapointment in life. And yes, I do realize that she probably spent a lot of money for her trip (just like everyone else who goes there does), but to be so upset because of a fire works show seems a bit immature to say the least. The last I checked nothing in life is guaranteed (except death, taxes and increased ticket prices 2 weeks before you planned to buy your tickets), so just take a deep breath and find something important to be angry about.

We were there 2 weeks ago, and I too was disappointed that they were not showing Wishes. But I wouldn't think to complain about it. Hallowishes is an awesome fireworks show! As others have posted, sometimes it rains and Wishes is cancelled. Do you expect them to hand out free tickets every time that happens? I can't imagine being so upset that 15 minutes of my day wasn't what I expected that I would go complain and expect another whole day free.

If people keep expecting free passes every time some little thing isn't to their liking, no wonder Disney has to keep raising their ticket prices.

Geez. I wish I had a life so easy that a change in a fireworks show was enough to just about ruin my trip to Disneyworld. Would it really have made a difference if you had known the fireworks show was different?

Get a grip!

I can't imagine how you're going to react when life throws you a real curveball rather than just, "Waaaahhhh I'm in Disney World and they showed Hallowishes instead of Wishes and I want something free for my disappointment." You sound like not only a baby, but a spoiled rotten entitled baby.

Get over it and be glad your life is so wonderful that a tiny thing like that could bother you so much.

OP... I am sorry that you were disappointed. It is hard when things dont happen the way they should.

I'm even more saddend (sp) to read the responses that you are recieving on this thread.

You are clearly just stating the facts about misrepresentation.. I believe or maybe there allready is,, I am so new to this Disney stuff,,, but the fireworks show/change should have been on display when entering the parks,,, I believe if you or anyone else would have known earlier it would have elevated alot of surprise, and stress that you felt.

I do hope that when you go again,,, Wishes will be playing,,, Because like you,,, I LOVE Wishes, And on a side note,, I was there last year at Halloween and saw Wishes and Hallowishes,, and I agree Wishes is much better! I always love to sit in front of the castle with my family and watch,,, In Oct I sat up top of the train station,,, Which I will never do,,, Who knew,,, the dont turn off the lights,,, ! I learned that the hard way!

Enjoy your trip..

I'm thinking about the poor CMs who have to deal with this - maybe the first 20 families coming up to complain that after spending the day at the parks, (riding the attractions and seeing the shows), the fireworks are the 'wrong ones' and they need compensation use up all the CMs sympathy and patience...

Makes me rethink wanting to become a CM when I retire, that's for sure, if this is what people p!ss and moan about now!

You've gone FOUR times in 2006 alone, and have TWO more trips coming up soon. So you missed Wishes on your last trip--SO WHAT??!! It's not like you couldn't have seen it the other three times you were there this year. You can see it again in April. Jeez, the things some people find to complain about!

Kelly

I hate to do this, as I really don't like to criticize, or judge people. But I can't believe anybody would ask for free tickets to the park because the wrong fireworks were shown.

Are you serious? Did this really happen?

Sabbie, you seem like a nice enough person, but you can't let something as simple as a wrong fireworks display ruin your trip, let alone your night. What if your favorite ride was broke-down all night? Would you have asked for free tickets because you didn't get to ride your favorite ride?

Jeesh.

Sabbie, I was saddened to read your story, I think I would have been bummed out too, having you guys hearts set on it as you did. And happy for both you and Brandon; enjoy your next trip, and Wishes.

PS: OT, you and Brandon have nice pictures there in your signature. He looks like Johnny Depp, and you, like Natalie Portman

Maybe the OP should have kept that to him/herself; that is a bit much just because a fireworks show was missed. I wonder what would have happened if it had rained...

I think the whole story, told through a few posts, is sad. Had I known the whole story, that Wishes was "their" fireworks, like their song, I wouldn't have been so quick to go for a quick joke, meant to show Sabbie that the fireworks display wasn't that bad. Top that off with the fact that she was obviously ticked at not being taken seriously because of her age or lack of smaller family members, I can see where the total experience would be very upsetting.

I apologize for not being more understanding and getting the thread off to a bad start.

She had her heart set on a specific experience, to remind her and her DBF of when they fell in love. They had every reason to expect this due to the advance material that they used to plan their trip to the parks and when they did complain, they were brushed aside, due to circumstances beyond their control with an apparent bias toward them; so I can see that that would upset me under the same circumstances. In effect, I showed her the same bias in brushing aside her complaint that upset her in the first place and I apologize for that.

Am I the only one who doesn't get how this statement fits the number of trips listed? I can only imagine being able to go to WDW that often!

Anyways...sorry about the fireworks. But, like someone else mentioned, others have missed Wishes & other things due to bad weather and that's just part of life.

I don't get it either.

Wow you people are brutal! :guilty: You know the beauty of this website is that we can all get on here and be ourselves in the fact that we ALL love WDW!! Someone shoudn't have to get blasted and judged for the way they reacted. We all have are limitations.
I have to say I do understand being disappointed. Getting your hopes up, expecting to see what was advertised, then being surprised with something unexpected is a great disappointment. :sad2: The fact is people do put time, money, and hopes into these things. Plus, she clearly said she wasn't looking for free tickets. She just wanted to be heard and assured something would be done to not lead others astray. I don't think you are at any fault. ;)
I also have to say that I am a great lover of Wishes as well!! :lovestruc My husband and I sat under them on our honeymoon on a lamp post in the rose garden also very much in love! :p
I think you are very blessed to get the oppurtunity to go as much as you do. We all know if we lived as close as you we'd be there as often as you!! :thumbsup2
Well, enjoy those free tickets and definately spread the magic and be thankful you got blessed by disney. :wizard:
