Fireworks in April

What is a normal firework schedule in April? We are slated to go April 17th - 21st right now; would we miss fireworks not going on a weekend? If we don't see fireworks it will ruin my husbands trip so before I start booking flights I would rather move dates if needed.

Thanks!

With Easter on March 27th, I would imagine it will only be available on weekends by then.

Thanks for asking. I was wondering the same thing. Our dates are 3-30 to 4-9 when will the parade schedules be out?

Typically unless it is easter week itself, fireworks are weekends only. This Fall has been an exception. It is not known if that will continue, but I'm thinking weekends only.

You will probably get them on the weekdays in the beginning of your visit. Schedules come out 4-6 weeks before.

As others have said, the operating hours are usually posted about 45-days/6-weeks in advance. Entertainment, including parade schedules, are usually added at some point after that, but often not until around the 30-day mark.

In terms of fireworks, it really depends on when DLR considers Spring Break to likely end. Last year, they presented nightly fireworks until April 19 (so two weeks after Easter). Easter is a week earlier in 2016 (March 27) and the main AP blockout period is the week before and after Easter. My guess is that nightly fireworks will at least run through the entire week after Easter (April 3) and possible for one more week past that (so ending somewhere around April 10). After that, they're likely to only be presented on weekends (Fri to Sun).

Thank you for the information. If Sunday is considered a firework day then I would only need to move our trip up by an extra day so wouldn't be that bad (trying to avoid taking kids out of school). The parades will be nice to see but fireworks was a major thing for my husband. Hopefully a few rides likes The Haunted Mansion are not closed when we go though in April since it seems like some of the refurb lists show opening early April.

We should know more about Haunted Mansion in the next few weeks. If it's just going down for the normal removal of the overlay, it should open back up around Friday, January 22. This would be consistent with some preliminary (now deleted) information indicating that IaSW would go down for removal of the holiday overlay on January 25. Over on the thread talking about the April closures, ChristianR indicated that s/he found the end dates for some refurbishments on the map (I haven't been able to get the dates to show, but the Disneyland.com site is kind of wonky and has quirks).

Is there ever a time of year when they just don't do fireworks at all, even on the weekends?

Normally fireworks are presented on weekends (Fri to Sun) throughout the year (at a minimum), but it's worth noting that sometimes conditions outside of Disney's control (e.g., weather) prevent them from presenting fireworks even if they're on the entertainment schedule.
