Fireworks cruise?

I've read a little about the fireworks cruises--EPCOT seems to be the favored one, but is the MK cruise worthwhile? I checked and the illuminations cruises are all booked up, but the MK one is still available--do people think it's a good experience? I heard it was hard to hear the music...

We did this in July 2001. It was a nice cruise, but we didn't hear any music and were quite far away from the fireworks. It wasn't at all like the Illuminations cruise (we did that too) where we were right up close to it. Just my opinion, but I won't do it again. I would definitely do the Illuminations one again though. Hope that helps!

We took a boat ride from MK to FW to attend the HoopDee Do review - just for transportation. The fireworks at MK started to go off and the boat driver stopped the boat for it!

I felt kind of bad because although it was a nice thing for us, I knew that there were people who were paying big bucks for this - and we were getting it for nothing! It didn't last long.

Thanks for the input! Hmmm...it definitely sounds like the Illuminations cruise is the one to go for. I have the MK one booked but now I'll just have to hope for divine influence and a cancellation...

I'll be the dissenting view here.

I've not ever been on either of these cruises but I too was able to book a MK Fireworks cruise instead of illuminations. When I but out a similar post to what you did, I got lots and lots of folks telling me about there experiences on the FW cruise and everybody was saying it was really great. I do hope it is really great because we're going for it!

As far as the cost goes, I got two other DIS families to join us so the cost is only $40 per family.....talk about cheap entertainment!

Anyway, I know there are lots of you out there who have enjoyed the fireworks cruise.....Please post here with you experiences to give us newbie cruisers more confidence.
