Fireworks cancellation policy???

In my past trips to DLR the fireworks have been canceled 1/2 the time. Its almost always due to high winds at a higher elevation.
My question is How much wind needs to be blowing and from what direction at a givin hieght?

Is it 5mph?10-15-20mph?

Is it at 750ft-1000ft?

Does it matter which direction the wind is blowing in? N,S,E,W, or inbetween.

I'm sure its for debris control so it wont land on freeway or what othere items may be off property.

I just want to know their tolerances..... I'll be there tommorro getting ready for fridays RDCT.

I honestly don't know the exact answer, and I'm not sure who would outside of the Anaheim Fire Marshall and the people at DL responsible for that job.

I can tell you if you see the Flag in NoS on top of the Dream Suite flying in the wind consistently, the fireworks will be canceled. This method has served me well in the past.

The weather looks fine for this weekend, and I don't see them calling for any windy conditions. I'd say you've got a really good chance to see them.

The Main problem of the fireworks are those from the castle and the hub surrounds. If those fireworks gets push even close to the guest, its all gone. No more. Those are the main fireworks Disneyland is most concern about in terms of the wind.

Why do you want to know where the CM store is. You cant buy anything without a Disney ID.

Someone told me that they'll cancel if the winds are blowing towards the homes/buildings but that if they are blowing towards the freeway they will still have them. Is that true? I saw the flags on the Castle blowing really hard the night I was able to catch 5 minutes before they canceled the show.

And what's the deal w/ January? I went the last 2 years in a row and had Fireworks canceled either due to rain and/or wind. Previous to that I went every year in December and was always able to see the Fireworks show. I was so bummed on my last trip...

In December they show the Believe...In Holiday Magic fireworks instead of Remember - I think I remember reading that Believe doesn't have the same tight wind requirements that Remember does. Which would make sense - it's more traditional overhead fireworks, and doesn't push the envelope like Remember does.

Thanks for your input, but I was actually at the park in the first week of January the last couple of years when they were still showing Believe in Holiday Magic. Unfortunately, in 2007 they actually had fireworks on one day of our trip but they canceled it on all prior nights, so I left the park early thinking they would cancel again and I missed it! I saw parts of it from the freeway. This year, it canceled due to wind and rain, and the one day that they had the entire fireworks show (they had started it one night and then cancelled about 5 minutes in), I had left the park early to go to see a band play in LA. Bummer...Unfortunately we don't just get to go to Disney when going to LA, we also have totake care of some business and meet up with others. I was really bummed out that we missed it again!
Now I'm trying to figure out how I can rework my schedule to just go in December instead of January.

There are a number of discount stores around but Company D is only open to Cast Members and their guests.
