Fireworks - Best Viewing Area

As a DL-neverbeen, I have no idea about the best place for viewing the fireworks. Is it best to see them from the Main St Hub looking at the castle or are there some "secret" and not so crowded places that still give you a great view like the rose garden at WDW.

Thanks--

G

They are best viewed from the hub/main street because the castle-front visually anchors the display and the fireworks theming/storyline is best told from this vantage point. But you don't have to choose the hub - we find that any place in the nearer 1/2 of main street is a good place to watch too.

Now that I said this, I need to explain that there are other places in the park that also are great for fireworks - you're just off-center a bit and don't experience all of the theming. :) You can see them from the Rivers of America or outside of IASW.

my favorite spot is the train station, or facing the castle, just left of the hub/near tiki room bridge.
enjoy your first visit!! :hippie:

We love to watch at least once each trip from up by the castle.....you really feel every firework & feel the heat off the flames (if they're doing them)....it's just beautiful!!

Our other favorite spot is to stand up on the platform of the train station (there are benches up there, but those are for preferred viewing) & stand just behind the benches. You have a straight show view of the castle & a great view of the fireworks.

If you do Fantasmic, you can watch the fireworks from that area....you won't see the castle, but it's still a very enjoyable view.

I agree that this is the best spot. I don't have a huge family - in fact I usually travel solo or with just one other person, so I find that I can sneak up to the hub in front of the castle just 15 minutes before the show and get a great spot standing right near the statue without trouble. If I had small children or a larger group, I'd definitely find a spot much sooner, but I've been fortunate to be able to "sneak in" at the last minute and get a great view of the castle, the fireworks, and the Matterhorn (which is important for the fireworks, but I won't give you any spoilers since you haven't been before!).

If you try for the hub then go to the right of the statue as you look at the castle, the fireworks are to the left of the castle and if you are to the left of the statue you will be blocked by a tree...I believe this is the one of the best possible places to be...

Thanks all!

I really appreciate the help! :goodvibes I'm getting more excited by the minute -- I'm still totally unprepared, :scared1: but excited! :woohoo:

Well, I'm not sure how many others have done this, but my wife and I saw the fireworks from the top deck of the Mark Twain Riverboat and we had an amazing view! From what I remember though, you have to be riding on the riverboat before it stops do to the fireworks because once the fireworks start they don't allow anyone on...you can leave, but you can't enter the boat once they've started!

During our recent spring break trip we were hanging around the Main Street Hub figuring where we were going to watch from when we saw a cast member walk by. We asked him if he had any recommendations on the best place to watch from and he said, "sure, come with me" and proceeded to take us to the roped off benches in the front. We were shell shocked with our good fortune, but now that we were spoiled with that, is truly would be hard to watch from any other view than really close and in the center.

We usually seat in one of the benches close to Refreshment Corner in Main Street, since exit's your first visit, I agree with all previous posters that you need to see them somehow near the castle to make your experience more magical :wizard:

Have tons of fun :goodvibes

If you don't care about having a view of the castle the Small World Mall (between Matterhorn and Small World) is also a good spot. Fireworks are actually launched from behind Toontown so it is a little louder in this area, but a you'll get a good view.
