My fmil is looking at doing Italy for our rehearsal dinner - on her BEO Disney is charging a $16 per person fireworks fee. Have you ever heard of this?

Thanks!

We are being charged a fee...it's normal. It's so your guests don't have to pay park admission. Our guests will meet outside guest relations and be escorted inside. Hope that help!

Yes. It's an illuminations viewing fee. When we were considering our Italy Isola for our rehearsal dinner Heidi, my wedding coordinator, explained it like this: If you bring your guests thru the backstage area then they do not have park tickets. The fee is so your guests can be in the park and watch the fireworks. If you know your guests will all have park tickets you can forego the pp charge and be escorted thru the turnstiles with a guide. So either you pay the reduced rate or all your guests pay for tickets. It just depends on your crowd and which is more advantageous for you! HTH! :thumbsup2

That helps a lot! Since all of our guests will have park tickets, then we can have that removed.

Thanks!

Just make sure your guests are willing and aware that they will be giving up a day on their tickets. If they have a park hopper ticket then there isn't a problem if they go to a different park in the morning but if they don't then they would need to go to Epcot that day. $16 is much more reasonable than the price of a day ticket. I would just pay the fee but that is just me. If everybody has park hoppers, AP's etc. then it isn't an issue. If not all of your guests do then it can be a big inconsideration and additional cost for them.

If it was only the wedding party, I would agree with you. But she is inviting everyone who is coming to the wedding - so it will be fairly expensive and if there is a couple of places where we don't have to pay if people are going to the parks that day anyway, then it's something we're going to look into. :thumbsup2

But I do see what you're saying and it's something to keep in mind.

My planner suggested to pay upfront (in the BEO) for everyone invited to the DP, and then if any guests DO end up using their own park passes, you will be refunded their viewing fees after the wedding. This was a great way to do it, so that I didn't have to ask the guests to pay out of their own pockets (unless they were planning to do it anyway!)

HTH! :goodvibes

That's a great idea! I'll suggest that and we'll see what happens.

Thanks, ladies! I can always count on you.
