Firefox Users -- a question

I don't know what happened. I was using my Firefox just fine for the past few weeks and have had no problems. Out of the blue today I lost ALL of my bookmarks, my history in the URL bar, my homepage and everything.

Has that ever happened to you? I'm particularly bummed about losing all of my bookmarks. I was able to import some from IE from before, but I've lost anything I bookmarked since then.

Any ideas?

that happened to me once too, and I was never able to figure out what happened. A couple of ideas:

first, are you using the latest version of firefox? You should probably upgrade, if not (maybe they fixed that glitch in the new version)

second, firefox uses things called profiles (or at least my older version did). This is where you use your own profile where all your personal preferences are saved (I would assume bookmarks, etc.) and then if someone else uses your computer, they can use their own profile where they have their own bookmarks. It could be that your profile got deleted or for some reason firefox is opening with the default profile instead of yours. There is some stuff online about fiddling with profiles which you could look at.

I assume I have the latest version because I just downloaded it a few weeks ago. I'll check out that profile thing.

Did you have a problem with firefox recently and had to end now? That happened to me once and it created another profile for me because the other one was still running even with end now. All of my bookmarks etc were in the old profile so when I restarted my computer in the morning I just selected that one instead of the newly created one. If that makes any sense!
