Fire in hotel!

Just got off the phone with friends of ours who arrived in FL yesterday. They are staying at the Doubletree Universal Gate (??? not sure exactly where this is, never been to Univ.) They are staying on the 6th floor, and are currently in the lobby awaiting permission to return to the floor. Someone was smoking in bed, and started a small fire. It couldn't have been very big, they only evacuated that floor I think. They called to tell us and complain! They are very exhausted having gotten up at 5 this morning, and going to EPcOt and MGM.

Not a very good way to start a FL vacation!!

You are right, not a very good way to start a vacation.

hey, lets not forget health is the most important thing - at least they are ok.
I'm sure if the fire had spread, I bet they would have been glad they were evacuated!!

(plus, whos not exhausted after going to Disney all day? that place is HUGE!!)

I hope their vacation is nothing but roses from here on out!! ( hey did they call/talk to mangement for a discount? I would )
