Ariel's Final Days in Fins

Disneyland has decided upon Sunday August 17 as the final day for Triton's Garden. Construction will begin next week on converting the area to Pixie Hollow and Tinker Bell Meet & Greet.

"So," encourages one cast member, "if you want a photo taken with Ariel as a mermaid, this is the last week to do it until 2010... when her new greeting location opens next to her new attraction at DCA."

O my DD12 is going to be so sad that Ariel will be gone when we go on our trip in Jan. I am glad we stood in line this last April to see her. In fact we were the first family so we got to welcome her as her shell was turning around. That was an awesome moment!! Can't wait for the new ride in 2010!!

Ariel will still be around just not in her fins.

You can still see Ariel at her Grotto in DCA (you do have to eat there) and at the Princess Fantasy Fair. Neither location will be finned but she will be there.

Why does Aeriel have fins anyways??? Didn't King Triton give her legs at the end of the movie?

Well, if she doesn't have fins on she really is not a mermaid anymore. Disney probably figures it would raise more questions from visitors if she had feet as opposed to the visitors who are looking at the movie for continuity.
