12/17-Tuesday
Whispering Canyons Cafe
We have always throughly enjoyed this loud and rowdy place for dinner! Not to be this time. It has long been a tradition to have dinner here before the MVMCP with out beloved Jeffro-Bodean but this year we hit on his night off!
I ordered the all-you-care-to-eat skillet, as did the other 2 adults in the party, and the kids ordered various items off the kids menu. The food was average and the server boring. he only way I will dine here in the future is if I'm staying at the WL and KNOW Jeffro will be there. Cost $45, Score 2.5
12/18-Wednesday
Le Cellier
We dined here with our CP pkg. I orderd the shrimp w/ wasabi slaw, NY strip, and choc. cake. The shrimp was beautifully presented, very spicey, and very good. The steak had to be sent back when it came out rare, I had ordered it med rare. Once it came back it was tender and oh so juicy. Great steaK!!! The potatoes that accomanied it were to heavily seasoned in my opinion. The choc cake was the least impressive part of the meal. The 2 adults dining with me also enjoyed their steaks, shrimp, and beef barley soup. WE all loved the assortment of breads. My son ordered the kids steak and ate every bite, my youngest son complained his chicken was a little burnt. All in all a great meal and wioll certainly return every trip! Cost-$65, Score 4.8
12/19-Thursday
Sunset Ranch Marketplace
My youngest child must eat a certain number of footlong hotdogs every trip and today was the day to take care of that. I ordered a baked potatoe, he ordered 2 footlong hot dogs, and my oldest ordered a cheeseburger. Standard fast food. $22
Kona Cafe
As DVC members we had spent an hour letting the kids swim in the volcano pool, after drying off we went to check-in at the Kona. There were 7 of us, we had Tuay as our server. We told him we really wanted to get in and out so we could watch the fireworks on the beach. The adults had the prime rib, chicken, and terraki beef. The prime rib was good, the chicken very good, and I really enjoyed my beef terraki(?) My best friend ordered the chicken and she ate every bite except for the bite she let me try. It was seasoned with ginger and I didn't care for it but she woofed it down. We ordered the kiddie cone and kileau torte. The kids enjoyed the kiddie cone and I was in heaven with the kileau torte! I also picked up a bag of Kona Coffee for my Husband who could not make it this trip. He loves their coffee. Cost with coffee-$62, score 4.8
12/20-Friday
This was our last day and we mainly picked up this and that as we got hungry.
We had several meals just munching around Worldshowcase. I must admit that is one of my favorite meals or ways to make a meal at Disney. We stuck with our favorites in France, Norway, and Japan. The kids also had to have beavertails! I swear evey time I take a bite I can feel a cavity form.
Summary:
All in all we really enjoyed our meals. Next trip I will omit Whispering Canyons Cafe from our meal list. We will definitely make an effort to hit Le Cellier and the Kona Cafe.
Hope you enjoyed.
