i've finished our ADRs..
i got pretty much everything i wanted...i had to juggle a few times and days, but that wasn't too much of a problem.
the only restaurant i couldn't get at all was Le Cellier...
perhaps we'll try a walk up when we're there...
i also couldn't get mama melrose for the fantasmic dining package, so i took hollywood and vine instead....not the greatest, but i wanted the fantasmic package so H&V will have to do....

this is what we have:
Crystal Palace (dinner)
Yak & Yeti
Boma
Plaza restaurant
Coral Reef
Chefs de France
50's Prime Time Cafe
Whispering Canyon Cafe
Fantasmic Dining package (Hollywood and Vine)
Crystal Palace (lunch)
Tusker House (Finding Nemo musical package)
Sci-fi restaurant
Chef Mickey's (dinner)

we're entitled to one more table service.
i was thinking of the Big River Grille and Brewing Works, which doesn't accept reservations.
Anyone ever eat there? opinions?

We ate there 2 years ago. Very busy but a good atmosphere. Nice beer, if you have young ones with you then maybe not such a good idea, but the food was good and if you go straight to your table then no problem.

Ate there for lunch last month one day when it was a tornado and sideways rain so we didn't want to leave the Boardwalk!

I mention the weather as it meant the place was pretty quiet.

6 of us went and we were all happy with our food. Pretty standard American fare although Jack raves about his blackened fish sandwich. One of his favourite casual meals all trip.

Not been for food but did have a drink there one afternoon last year, my 2 year old managed to knock over a full glass of beer and I was sooooooooo embarassed, the staff gave him a balloon, some crackers (what are those little fish shaped things called again?) and refilled my beer!! You DO NOT get customer service like that in the UK, well rarely!! The menu looked nice but I think we had ADRs elsewhere, there was some reason we chose not to eat there (maybe my embarassment! lol).

mo x

thanks - i thougth DS and his wife might enjoy it....they enjoy a good beer now and then...the rest of us don't drink, but it could still be fun.

anyway, i thought it might be nice to do something different...

maybe not on the meal plan then, maybe just out of pocket as something different...

i think i'll add on an ADR for the GF cafe....haven't eaten there in a few years...
and leave big river for just a pub type visit...

last night i decided to make yet another try for lunch at Le Cellier....
i had to go through the entire two weeks and finally managed to get a reservation on the very last day!!

pretty cool....
i've never eaten there...i know that people feel it's gone downhill recently, but the pictures of the place look interesting.....
and now that we actually got it, i can't say no :)

I've always enjoyed Le Cellier (eaten there 4 times now). Heard it's now 2TS for dinner now though - nit worth that at all imho, not compared to some of the great signitures on property; artist point is my current favourite!
You look like you've got a good mix in your ADRs - congrats. Personally we thought H&V was ok. Eaten there twice now - not much atmosphere when we went last time (restaurant almost empty) but food was tasty and plentiful, had a good salad bar and desserts.
We're having to cancel our 2 week free dining trip this year as now decided to go at Christmas instead, so I'm not frantically deciding where to book or changing my mind 15 times about where to eat this time ;)

thanks for the words of encouragement on H&V - it's for fantasmic - i really don't want to wait in line....so if the food turns out to be ok, that will be icing on the cake!!
we did eat there once a few years ago, and it was fine...at that time it was a minnie mouse meal so that's why we did it...the food wasn't the reason we were there....but i thought it was ok...

lunch at le cellier is still only 1 TS, so that's why i figured we'd try it..

i was thinking of trying one of the 2TS restaurants....
not sure which one..
we love citricos, but i'd like to try some place new...

Well done on getting all your ADRs! :thumbsup2 You have some of my favourite restaurants. I'm waiting to do our ADRs in a couple of hours so I hope that I'm as successful as you! :goodvibes

Congratulations to you. Many don't feel that Le Cellier has "gone downhill". Enjoy it and your whole visit.

We had dinner there August 2009, one of our favourite meals, then again August 2010 didn't enjoy anywhere near as much, basically same meals but they had tweaked them, not for the better in our opinion, hopefully now its a signature restaurant they have improved. We did feel it was worth the 1 credit but would never spend 2 there, back to Yachtsman for our signature meal this year.:goodvibes

Beth you hv really good choices and i liked le cellier. We had lunch arnd 230 and it was a nice time. Didnt realise it was just the dinner was 2 credits? May well do lunch again. Can book my first 10 days on the 11 th may and still hvnt decided them yet. What about yaughtsman or CG for your 2 credits? I think there are lots of nice resturants for 1 credit so i would do two for 1

I had a dinner reservation for Le Cellier but kicked it to touch about 2 weeks before we left home. I too was hoping that with the upgrade in status that they would be upgrading the food to match and also taking out a couple of tables to give more room (I've eaten a couple of times at Le Cellier before and enjoyed it, but that doesn't change the fact that I think the restaurant is vastly over-rated for it's 'cult status'), however early reports on the Restaurant board and a review on the Disney Food Blog (and I rate that blog) seemed to suggest that the changes are the merest tweaks to the menu - bar ofc the prices which all seem to have had several $$ tacked on...

I'm all for flying in the face of some negative comments if there are also positive ones but early indications were that not a lot has changed to justify it's 2 credit/price hike and with so many other known good options available I simply wasn't prepared to give it a chance. Perhaps next trip when more feedback exists and they've had more time to find their feet in the new bracket and perhaps tweaked further.

Edit: should have said, still think Lunch is worth it and I like the atmosphere in Le Cellier a lot so glad you got your ADR for that OP!
