And I lost 13 pounds - woo hoo!

Fingers crossed the second week is successful as well - although I'm not expecting it as good as the first!

WOW! AlisonB, that is GREAT!

How are you liking lo-carb so far. Is it something you think you can stick to , once you get to maintanence, that is??

Ofcourse, you know not to expect that for the second week, but hey, who cares??!! 13 pounds in one week. WOOHOOO!!:D :D :Pinkbounc

Don't you just love that great kick-start Atkins gives you!
If you haven't tried low-carb before, my biggest hint is to be sure and look at the recipes because after a few weeks you can fall into the pattern of just eating the same things and get bored. Spice up those piles of meat.....and don't forget FISH.

:p WOW!! WOW!! WOW!! :p You ROCK!!! Great job--what a great start you have!!!

Well done darling!

Keep up the good work

Thanks for your comments everyone!

Well, I think I'll be able to stick to it longer term - the only meal I have trouble with is breakfast - I just never feel like anything savoury in the morning. I'm coping with scrambled eggs at the moment, but looking forward to some of the low carb 'sweet' things for a bit further down the line. I've not investigated the recipes much yet - but I've found a lovely one for pancakes!!

Hi Alison!

Congrats on your most excellent first week.

I too am rounding out my first week of Atkins. Today I really struggled with making any kind of egg breakfast. Luckily, I was at the store (Albertsons) the other day and turned a corner to find a nice little selection of Atkins brand stuff.

I grabbed some Morning Start breakfast bars (Which are okay for Phase 1 - induction) and had one today...2g of carbs and BOY are they good! I got the cinnamon bun kind...i've been nibbling on it for the last hour.

I just couldn't force myself to have another egg breakfast for the 6th day in a row!

btw..I signed up for ediets.com and have been following their meal plan pretty closely..and so far, its been all eggs in the morning....Thankfully, tomorrow, it's calling for some sort of Tuna dish in the morning..I think I can handle that!

Congrats again...I'm REALLY AMAZED at what I've lost this first week..I love the kickstart period!

take care,
-dennis

Hi Alison!!! Congratulations!!!! Fantastic job! Isn't Atkins great? I also just completed my first week and I am thrilled with the results! I am also VERY sick of eggs, but yesterday I went to the Atkins site www.atkins.com, and ordered lots of their products including pancake mix, syrup, muffin mix, and my personal fave... chocolate bars and peanut butter cups!!!!!!! WOW!!! Can't wait to get it all!

Congratulations again!

Erin :D

Congratulations, Alison! That is wonderful news!! Keep up the great work! :)

Wow! 13 pounds in a week?!? That is GREAT!

I started getting sick of eggs, too, but I also don't need sweet things in the morning. I have decided to make a little extra at dinner, if possible, so I can have a chicken breast with bleu cheese dressing in the morning, etc. I had swiss cheese and capicola rollups this morning. There are options other than just eggs. The jumpstart period is the hardest since it's the most limiting.

I am loving my energy level and people are starting to notice something different about me. YIPEE! :Pinkbounc

Keep up the great work, Allison!

Congrats Alison...you have had an excellent 1st week!

To change out your breakfast items...give the Atkins morning start breakfast bars a try. Our favorites are the apple and the chocolate chip...the cinnamon and the blueberry are very good also. They are your meal...along with tea or whatever you drink in the morning. They are delicious and very filling!

You can use them in phase one...they are great for mornings you don't feel like cooking or have little time.

You're all so kind! Thanks for all your suggestions - I'll certainly look into them! (Slight problem here in the UK is getting hold of the Atkins branded stuff - we have to get it by mail order and as it's been imported it's a bit expensive!)

On a very happy note - I've just done my second week weigh in and I've lost another 6 pounds! Woo hoo!

Wow!! You are really going to town!! (Do you have that expression in the UK, or is it one of those US things that doesn't really make any sense? LOL)

Congrats on your huge 2-week success! Keep up the great work!
