Can anyone who has been to WDW recently tell me how the finger scan works? Do you insert your park ticket and then do the finger scan?
Do you have to do the finger scan everytime you enter a park?
How is this effecting entry into the parks? Many, many people had enough trouble getting their passes in. Why do I always get stuck behind these people? :rotfl:

Yes, insert pass, do finger scan, enter park. Surprisingly, there weren't as many problems as I imagined. But like you, I always seemed to get behind the person who did have a problem. Ditto for the FastPass machines.... "Why am I getting 'Not a valid Fastpass'?"..... I dunno, but step aside until a CM can help you. :teeth:

I hated the fingerscan, it always messed up on one of us. As "Keeper of the tickets" I've always just passed them out at the entrance, now we have to make sure each of us has our own. I know it sounds whiney, that along with having bags checked, etc. I feel a little 'invaded'. Just a quirk, I guess.

Oh, each person needs their own personal ticket? Didn't realize that!!! Like you, I am the keeper of the passes and just pass them out at the entrance. Guess that is why some people are asking how to mark tickets that are not connected to your room key! It's all coming together for me now!!! :teeth: How do you mark the tickets? I guess with a sharpie pen? This new system sounds like a pain! Thanks for the heads up!!

If you make your ticket purchase at a Disney Theme Park, we will ask you to stop at tables we have set up so each person can sign their tix. Adults can sign for kids, its just to tell who's is who's. :)

As passholders, we have always had to do the finger scan. We just got back from WDW, and I can tell you that it has definitely slowed down the lines getting into the parks. There are lots of people who are having troubles getting their fingers in the right way, so it was taking some multiple tries. Just be prepared to stand in line longer, have your own tickets in hand, and you will do just fine. When we used to have park hoppers we just marked each person's initials on the back with a sharpie so that we knew who had what. Don't worry, you will do just fine, and have a great time. After all, it is Disney World!

We were there a couple of weeks ago. We thought it was absolutely no big deal. Insert the ticket, put your fingers in the scanner. Sometimes it may take a moment and then you're in. Honestly, I'd check it off the list of things to worry about.
