Having spent 20-30 mins trying to find our white hire car in a sea of white hire cars, we should have taken the advice of an american friend of ours.

Tie a ribbon on the aerial of your car, as garish as possible, it will stand out in a crowd!! Of course if we all travelled on the same day and did the same thing it could get rather confusing! We shall certainly get our act together for next year.

we are going in 8 days time and we will be placing the england flags that came down swiftly in euro2004.We will only put them up in the car parks and not whilst we are travelling. We do not want to be seen as tourists

Kipper that is exactly what we did in Aug. 2002 and plan to do this year, we did not drive around with them on but as soon as we parked, attached them to the windows found our vehicle first time every time. This year in case anyone else has the same idea we have one union jack and one england flag so that we can spot the car easier!

we usually just stick on a cheap walmart antenna topper (flower-shaped)
no probs finding the car in and outside the parks .;)

Good idea Jane. That would save ALOT of walking up and down car parks!!!

Hi,
We used the remote key fob to find our car. It sounds the horn when you you press the lock button and seems to have a much longer range than the UK one's. Great fun....:teeth:

Lime Green Ribbon on ours, but there again I seem to always remember where the car is parked.

to tie round the antenna's. BIL also suggested using an England flag but I have the feeling that the car parks will be a sea full of white cars of England flags!!!

i always always write down where we've left it. Eg which section & which row.

On the return to the car-park I read out what I've written then follow the rest of the family. As a non-driver I can NEVER recognise the hire car.

I read this elsewhere on the boards and would never have thought of it - take a photo of the area you are in (the sign and row no) with your digital camera! We also do the antenna topper but as a new digital camera owner I thought this was a great idea.

When we "lost" the car a nice Disney man in an air conditioned van drove us up and down until we found it. We'd left something in the back window but just couldn't remeber which row we were in (only 2 out!). I've written it down every time since then!

hi
another tip is to remember your number plate!!!! we arrived back in the car park to find 5 identical blue people carriers like ours in the same parking lot and had to go round with the key clicking at every one until it beeped and flashed the lights to show which was ours.
Great fun actually!! Good game at the end of the day!
