Finding Waldo and Dodging an ECV: Multi-tasking in WDW! NEW 11/11 AGAIN!!?? WOW!

T this is a hoot! I can't believe you had such a bad start. I'm glad you can make fun of it. That plane would have scared the carp out of me. Talk about a do-over.

The old bird story is frickin' hilarious. My co-worker asked me what was so funny because I was over in my corner snickering out loud.

So Ridemax didn't trip your trigger, huh? Sounds like a great first day at Epcot!

OK first off, didn't I make a rule about PM'ing me when a Focker starts a trip report...:sad2:

Well I found you anyhow!;)

Ok, so the plane was going in the wrong direction:scared1:

How the heck was that explained????

Glad that you like SSR, that's where I am for Turkey day weekend, I was able to get a studio for all my nights!

I still want to pinch Evan's cheeks:goodvibes

Using an ECV and others... well remember I have season tix to the Jets, the last several years my Dad went he was in one and put that together with drunk Jet fans:eek: Add the mgmt in their infinite wisdom had the VIP parking empty into the handicap lot, you can't imagine how hard it was dodging the VIP's leaving the game. I wrote and called several times to complain and got no where. (yes the VIP's had closer parking:mad:)

Kim Possible sounds fun and I love Waldo, China, what are they doing there?:lmao:

HI to V and LL, oh and flat Kate:wave2:

I am the same way in airports! My paranoia kicks right in.

Ok you win the award for best friggin cliff hanger in a TR!
Kat, I'm sorry I missed your quote!

Airports bring out the psycho in me! :headache:
OMG!That is so funny, I can see somebody in my family having the same reaction.
Dude, this is my life. Daily. I'm often explaining thing to Waldo that normally would need to be explained. It's very frustrating and funny at the same time.
Thank you so much for sharing this. It can be very difficult to manuver around WDW in a wheelchair/ECV. The rudeness and disrespect still amaze me. Bill just ignores it, it bothers me so much more.

You know what, Tracy? That experience has truly changed me. I know that without that ECV, people with temporary disabilities or permanent ones would not be able to enjoy that Disney Magic and if those of us who are able-bodied would just think a little bit more about how we can make things easier for not so able-bodied people, even just moving over 2 inches out of their path, simple things like that, it would be so much easier for them.

Aw, you and Bill are wonderful people! I do hope we get to meet someday!

Oh thanks, now I want a Grey Goose Slushie I just have to wait 85 more days .
This was my first one and I quickly became addicted to them! I can't wait for another one!
I can't wait to try this with Christian! I am so happy you had fun doing this.
This is sooo much fun! Make sure you grab a FP for it at the entrance of Innoventions East right before you hit the Electric Umbrella.

That was just dumb luck...had nothing to do with the fact that it was the Poly...just sayin'....:rolleyes1
Uh huh... right.
I'm right there with ya Sista...it's like slumming, isn't it? Now you know why Tony's always all over me about staying in a studio. He HATES staying in a studio. I'm not a big fan either, but you know how I like to work my points...I've tried to explain that we really don't spend a lot of time in the room, so we can suffer with a studio, but the bedroom is nice to have. A bedroom would have been especially useful this past trip...:rolleyes1 I just need to buy more points. Plain and simple.
Yeah, but Tony's right. If you had more points, you'd just go more often and still stay in a studio! :rotfl2:

Crap, we never did the kiddie swap, did we?

I'm glad TE had it though. Either she wouldn't have been able to leave the room for most of the trip or she'd have been miserable. I'm really happy she was able to have freedom of movement and enjoy herself.
We were just talking about this. She was so happy that I talked her into that scooter rental place, rather than renting in the park. She could do the pool and DTD - she loved it!

It's hard! Think my Nana finally got the hang of pulling onto the buses on the last day...Tony did it for her most of the time, and there were a lot of inconsiderate guests who'd complained about having to wait to load the buses, but all the CM's were fabulous.
Ditto for TE! Seriously on our last day, she rocked the parallel parking!

Hmmm...wouldn't ya think Ridemax would know that by 4m the FP's would be most likely be gone?
Ya think? Ridemax blows.

Ok so I must've missed that - they're sending him to Tokyo? Man, they send all the cool stuff there...I would have liked to have checked him out...do you know when?

I think he's off to Tokyo in September. :confused3

Wow - everything looks so yummy! I've never once eaten there. In fact I've never even considered eating there till you talked to me about it this trip...I always think "France" and "snails" all in one big, combined, oogied-out thought so I don't even know if I have even once perused the menu...perhaps next time...looks yummy....and you say the tenderloin's better than Narcoosee's? Seriously?
I was shocked at how much better my tenderloin was over Narc's. The food was very good and service was out of sight. Definitely a must-try.

Very sweet...wish M could celebrate his b-day at WDW...perhaps another year. This year all he wants (allegedly) is to "go home". I, on the other hand, am dying to go back "home"....heh heh...his b-day this year is the Tuesday after Labor Day...long weekend would be perfect...
It was fun to celebrate his Bday, but there were some problems later one. You'll have to wait for it. ;)

It was so exciting to finally be all together again!!:It had been wayyy too long!!

For SURE! I really missed you girls!

Just caught up !! My favorite dessert at Chefs is those apple crepes !!!!
Aren't they off the hook, Rosie? Yum-O!
Why didn't you walk to DTD from SSR??? It's not far and would have saved all that waiting
Seriously? :lmao: I did mention to my family that we could walk to SSR and they looked at me like I had 3 heads!
Sounds like a great trip so far. Glad you got to see LL and V. Waldo and TE are cracking me up. I can't wait to be old and say and do silly stuff just because I can. I am going to ride my scooter in turtle mode and make everyone wait on me!
There are only 2 times in your life when being silly is ok. WHen you're under 10 and over 70! :lmao:

A lesson in AIS, just for you Deb. AIS = *** In Seat. If I declare AIS time as 8am, your *** better be in the seat or else I'm leaving you. I'm assuming you've never watched "Everybody Loves Raymond"?

And TFI = That's for your information. Kinda like FYI, but not. ;)
I

  • brown peeps
  • SSR
  • Grey Goose slushies

I'm in!
Hi Jenny! I heart that you love brown peeps!
Next year I'm going to France for my birthday! How cool for Evan. And you're right about the mac & cheese. I'm sorry I didn't get to see Waldo & TE this time. We'll plan better next time.
THat's right! You missed the train wreck... err I mean Waldo and TE. ;)
I just had a Waldo moment Ang...I was just thinking how cool to go France for your birthday...
:rotfl2:

I'm so glad you gave Flat Kate a chance to rest. Rumor has it she gets really crabby when she's tired.

Remy is too cute, as is Evan I'm glad they gave him a special treat for his birthday. And I can't wait to try the Kim Possible thing. It sounds so cool.
KP is a MUST DO, Kate!
T this is a hoot! I can't believe you had such a bad start. I'm glad you can make fun of it. That plane would have scared the carp out of me. Talk about a do-over.

Hi Kristel! I'm glad you're getting a kick outta Waldo. I promise more laughs soon!
OK first off, didn't I make a rule about PM'ing me when a Focker starts a trip report...:sad2:

Well I found you anyhow!;)
Sorry, Mo. :guilty:
Ok, so the plane was going in the wrong direction:scared1:

How the heck was that explained????
It wasn't and honestly I was too tired to even try to figure it out.
Glad that you like SSR, that's where I am for Turkey day weekend, I was able to get a studio for all my nights!

You're going to love it, Mo. Request the Grandstand area near the bus stop. Perfect if you and Murph decide to bus it rather than drive.

We finally boarded the most ghetto plane in United's fleet. I'm talking GHETTO ... the plane wasn't even freakin' painted, it was a primer gray. Throw some 22's spinners on that bad boy and we could cruise Crenshaw Blvd.

We blasted off into the dark sky and headed toward Florida. Or did we?

Up Next:

Why the heck is the ocean still on the left side of the plane?

Okay....Your reference to Crenshaw Blvd had me :lmao::lmao::lmao:

This is better than meals on wheels!

This is too funny

Relax, relax I'm here. :lmao:

Hey Tracy!! Just getting started and so far brilliant, just as I expected!

Can't wait to read more and to catch up properly. There's some VERY familiar 'faces' posting here too - looking forward to saying hi to ye all. I missed everyone.

Be back soon. :thumbsup2

Just doing a quick drive-by :car: to make sure you hadn't updated your TR either!!:lmao:

I thought of doing it tonight while I was watching the game, but decided to watch I Love You, Man instead....:happytv:

Back again!!!

But “the plan”? You know the beautifully planned and executed plan? Yeah, I flung that thing like poo on Day 1.

:scared1: Oh no!

BOYOND JOALOUS? :lmao: I'm leaving that in - that's what jealousy does to me.

I thought it would be fun to use Twitter whilst on this wacky adventure, so I changed my profile name on Twitter and tweeted away. If you want to check out my Tweets I’m “FindingWaldo”.

I can't twitter. I tried but I just stare at the screen when it asks me what I'm doing. It's too much pressure. I can't take it. I like Larry David's answer on his Twitter page though: "Again, this thing is asking me what I'm doing. I'm sitting here in front of a computer. What else would I be doing? Playing tennis?" :rotfl2:

My poor husband was flagged again by TSA and needed to check in at the airport.

the driver was going the wrong way out of our subdivision.

Oh dear God, not a good start. Your poor DH. :sad2:

I tend to freak out a little bit in airports.

OMG! So do I (you'd never have guessed I bet, lol!!). I change personality I swear. It's happened so often that now, before I enter an airport, I take a deep breath and say "now Deb, you're organised, no need to panic, don't freak out in front of the kids, relax, all is well". Then as soon as we set foot inside the door I'm like "Oh my God, we're all going to die!! Everything's gone - our passports, tickets, money, everything, this holiday sucks, we're never gonna make it, I hate airports, I hate travelling, I hate life". You know, a mild panic attack!

So much more to say but lunch is ready (lucky you, lol!).

Oh but just have to comment on these pics:

WDWAug2009013.jpg

Mmmmm... sugar!!!

Hey Deb!!! Good to see you on the boards again :goodvibes I hope all is well with you and yours. And, yes, I was unable to go down to WDW this summer to meet up with the girls, so T kindly took me along  I make a great tour guide when I'm flat

You've got to be inside since it's so hot today...so why not do an update....;)

No rush...believe me, I think I'm the current king for the longest time from start to finish of a TR...15 months!

Also missing was the handy dandy hat/purse rack thing. Dang it! I got V’s little person room!
Ah, but my Little Person room had the coat rack last year! ;)

WDWAug2009264.jpg

If those trees were smaller I’d have a great view. Foiled again.
Really? I prefer the trees.

once you’ve stayed in a 1 bedroom, a studio blows.
::yes::

Sadly, she never found her comfort zone. She either flew off in one direction, way ahead of us, or she was bringing up the rear. :moped:
Aaawww, but she sure was cute!

When Evan was a baby, he was obsessed with Garbage trucks, so I knew he’d love doing the Trash game. And he did. :goodvibes
I've really got to get over there before it leaves.

HAPPY campers! :yay:

WDWAug2009021.jpg

Ricks reaction when I said we were heading over to Germany.
:lmao::lmao::lmao:

We remembered a picture this time!
WDWAug2009026.jpg
Yes, but we didn't remember to look at the right cameras, lol!
