Finally...Trip Report #31 is Done!

Ah, the famous BLACK LIGHT report is here! ;) :teeth:

Great report as always, I think we can live vicariously through them! :)

Thanks for the awesome trip report. Just what I needed. I am looking so forward to our first cruise in June and now after reading your trip report I am bouncing with anticipation!!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

We'll read it over and over before our 5/22 3-night Wonder cruise. Thanks!

Great report Barb!

BTW, do you know if Katarina from Croatia is still on the Wonder? We met her on our 12/01 Wonder cruise. DS fell in love with her and it would be great if she was still around in Feb '04.

Thanks!

Thanks Barb, great trip report as always!!! :teeth:

Is Katarina really tall? If so, I think I know who you are talking about, and I think we saw her in March but not in April so she might be on vacation (or maybe just on another reotation). If it's the person I'm thinking of, she is hilarious! :D

Yes, she is tall!!! I am sure she see lots of kids, but she really made our first trip special and we are hoping she will be on board in Feb.

It sounds like you have had the same server multiple times. Is that by design? If so, what are your tricks?

Thanks so much Barb. I think one of your Wonder cruises is a week off from ours. I sure wish we were crusing together:jester: :jester: :jester: :jester: :jester:

We only had Katarina as our server once, but she recognized us on subsequent trips. The servers have AMAZING memories...there are at least half a dozen who know us because we have had them on previous trips. They always greet us so warmly, and they take good care of us if we are in their restaurant at breakfast or lunch.

I've been waiting for your trip report - thank you! I can't wait for my cruise in October. My next vacation will be in July to BERWYN, IL - and then on to Ft. Wayne, IN for a wedding. Wooohooo!

Barb,
Thanx for all the info. Going on our 3rd DCL cruise this Nov.
A few ques. (may be more later!):

1) The view from the starboard side at CC - is that OF CC or the ocean? I assume it's CC, but when we went on the Magic first we had the island view so the next time I booked the same side of the ship when we took the Wonder & we ended up looking @ the ocean. Getting a verandah again & want the island view.

2) Now I know why they call you 'Black Light Barb'. I love a CLEAN cruise & that's one of the reasons we stick solely w/DCL now. Do you think they're more diligent since they know you do this & report the info.?

3) Do you know if they're still selling the model cruise ships? I have one (right next to me) on our mantle & want to get another next cruise. Also, do you know if the original books that were handed out in the first year, 'Disney Magic' about the construction of the ship, etc. are available anywhere? I was so stupid trying to be courteous to our stateroom host - he offered us two & I said, 'No, that's alright, we want to be fair & just take one' & he tried again & I wouldn't budge. Now, I kick myself because I treat the one I have like a priceless gem & don't let anyone touch it so we really can't enjoy all of the facts.

Thank you!
:D

dclwdwlover,
To answer your questions:
1) Our view is of the CC boating lagoon, but we are all the way aft so I think if we were more forward, it would be ocean/beach rather than island dock. I'll consult hubby to make sure I'm not being dyslexic, as he is the "view expert." Of course, that's assuming the ship backs in, but it's done that for so many of our cruises now that I can't even remember the last time it pulled in.

2) I think that Disney is just diligent with the staterooms in general because there is no way they could have gotten the carpet that clean without ongoing diligence. I know how thoroughly hubby clean up after our old cat, who threw up several times a week, but it still shows under the black light. They must really keep up with the scrubbing to have it that clean, especially considering there are new people in the stateroom twice a week!

3) They do still sell the little ship models, but I haven't seen the books for a long time. They show up on Ebay occasionally, but they are not sold on the ship. But it never hurts to ask...stop by Guest Services and ask about it, just for the heck of it! I know the book you mean because we got a couple copies on a couple of our earliest cruises. I love the pictures of the concept plans.

Thanks for the post. I love reading your trip reports. I think I have read them all. I'm thinking of doing a Wonder cruise next fall with my mom and it's nice to read about the Wonder. I have only done the Magic so far.

Thanks for sharing! You guys are very lucky with all those cruises under your belt. I can't wait for our next adventure in under a year away....
