FINALLY!!! Our CBR Picture post.

AMAZING PICTURES! Thank you for taking the time to post them, I'm also in anticipation of my stay there this coming July, I hope I can get as good pictures as you did! Thanks again for sharing.
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Thanks so much for posting your pictures. Am staying there in September for the first time and am getting more and more excited.

Glad you liked the pics!

Missy Rye- yes. There are ice machines on each floor near the staircase. There are signs that point the way.

JAP- you can never ask too many questions. Check in took less than a half hour total. THe CM was EXTREMELY nice and was trying to work with me. She would suggest a building and point it out on the map, I would say "no." She would point, I would say "no" FINALLY she said "What exactly is it you're looking for?" I was able to tell her: Non-smoking, close to OPR, near the bus stop, no parking lot view. She immediately gave me the choice of Trinidad NOrth 32 or I could wait for Martinique 24.... I took TN. It was really no biggie, though I was peeved that they did not have our room requests (made through CRO when we booked).

All rehabbed rooms look the same! It no longer varies from Area to area.

Ted and Holly,

What great pictures! We just got back from CBR May 3-6 (stayed at the Yacht Club on the 7th). I haggled a little at check-in too to get what I wanted - got Jamaica 45 which was wonderful! The CM at check in was very nice. It was the CM at the Yacht Club who was a bit unfriendly!

We loved CBR. No big waits at the Food Court. We used the water mice 2x. Loved the walk over the bridge each day, listening to the music.

...we will be staying at CBR 7/26-7/31 (then off to WL!!)and plan in using the food court. Any specific comments (good OR bad??)
Ted and Holly , you can answer this one too....

...is volleyball net located - by your room or near the main pool?

Ted and Holly,

Your pictures are just great. As you can see I'll be there next week and I am getting so excited. It's a first time there for me and I have requested Trinidad North too.

Thanks so much for the pictures........

Thanks for all the nice comments everyone!

The food court at CBR is not bad. They have a Bakery, a Pasta Shop, a Deli, a Hamburger shop, and a BBQ place. Then there is the Captain's Tavern. We have not eaten there.

The volleyball court is located at the large beach next to the main pool. It is on the Trinidad side.

Hi Kimmar067!

These are my thoughts on CBR: This is a resort I would stay in if I were coming in early - thereby increasing the liklihood of getting a room close to Old Port Royale. The resort is huge and some of the villages are quite a hike from the food court. I was riding my bike around and heard one little boy wailing ...aren't we there yet?! - meaning, his room. If you've got little ones, bring a stroller. July is going to be tough too, with the heat.

If you're coming in late and can't get the room you want, and they offer you a closer room the next day, take them up on their offer and move the next day.

I love the food court - lots of variety and the dining area is great - there's a little alcove with a TV - a door leading out to outside tables - it's really very nice. But, eat during odd times to minimize your waiting. Eat breakfast very early - the resort is so beautiful early in the morning - eat lunch in the parks or at a monorail reosrt to break up the monotony of eating at CBR all the time - and, then eat dinner at some off hour or order a room-service pizza.

Nothing bad about this resort except the hike to Old Port Royale. I think if you've got a car, and want to be away from kids, some of the more remote villages might then be nice.

Your pictures were great! I love the colors and the tropical feeling of the CBR. Thanks for posting.

...one more question. I was showing my DH your wonderful pics so he too can get in the "mood" for our vacation at WDW, and I noticed in the photo of the "closet" there were a few CBR mugs on the shelf. Did you put them there, or do they come with the room now??? I've sayed at other mods, and have never had this service...

How far in advance did you make your reservations before your trip?

When you check into your room, you will find four refillable mugs wrapped in plastic and a couple ponchos on the round table. If you use these, the charge will be billed to the room. If you leave them, after the first day, housekeeping will put them in the closet. Or did Holly do that? :)

We booked in February and we were almost too late. There was very little left in ANY WDW resort due to that week being the first of several good discounts.

Ted

Thanks for posting those beautiful pictures! We will be staying our first night at CBR and I can't wait to check out this resort!

Ted and Holly. That is such a nice convenience - having the mugs right in the room when you get there!!

We did the unthinkable and brought our mugs from our April 2000 trip! They were EXACTLY the same except a little round circle with WDW's millennium logo on it. It was EASILY covered up by my thumb! LOL!

Ted, dear! I put the mugs and ponchos in the closet, silly!!!!! Are you going to tip me??

Holly
