Cast: Me - 4th time to WDW in just over a year (gotta love those APs), master planner
Phil - Been to DL once over 20 years ago, 1st time to WDW
(Both early 40s)
We were up early to get some last minute packing done. Called Bell Services who arrived promptly at 7:30a and wisked our luggage off to POFQ. Express checkout was on the door so after a brief look over, we were off to EMH at EPCOT. We arrived quickly and made a beeline to TT. Grabbed FPs then headed to the regular line. This rides alot of fun and Phil really enjoyed it. Got off and went to SE to kill time until our FP. Back to TT, then Living with the Land. The line was fairly long already so we got FPs then snacked on a bagel while we waited. Did a little shopping at the gardening store and finally our FPs were up. Even though I dont have a garden at home, I enjoy seeing the various ways to grow veggies, especially after eating at the Garden Grill and knowing that some of the food came from here.
Even though it was before our PS time at Le Cellier, we headed over when it opened and they were able to seat us right away. This was also a restaurant Id been dying to try and had another great meal. We both had the infamous Cheese Soup with pretzel bread, then split sirloin tips w/creamed cheese mashed potatoes (yummy!!) and creme brulee. Our waitress was so sweet and it was fun talking to her about her home in Canada.
Now we were full and tired so we caught a bus to POFQ to check in and see if our room was ready and yes, it was!! This was the first time Id stayed anywhere other than the value resorts and was quite impressed!! The resort was very pretty and loved to compactness of it. Our room was in building 2, 3rd floor near the food court and was neat and clean. We couldnt have asked for anything more!! The only downfall was our luggage wouldnt be there for another hour. Oh well, thats OK. I left Phil propped up on the bed with remote control in hand while I went to explore and take pictures. Stopped back at the room to find our luggage had finally arrived!! Yeah!!! Jumped into my bathing suit to hit the pool and slide, then wandered over for a short sit in the hot tub boy, did that feel good on my feet, never mind the rest of my body!!
After changing, we wanted to catch Fantasmic (had planned to do that Mon. nite, but got rained out!). Got to MGM around 4:45p and got a couple of hot dogs. After our fine dining, we headed into the theater and found some good seats. The show was great as usual. After that we decided to check out WL and its decorations so we grabbed a bus. This was another Wow! resort, but we were so impressed by it that were aiming for a November 2004 trip to stay there. After a brief tour we caught a bus to Ft. Wilderness for our 9:30 Carriage Ride. It was only 8p, but Linda and Scotty (the horse) were more than happy to take us early. It was dark and very romantic!! We struck up a conversation with our driver (Linda) and found out she was originally from Webster, MA which is only 1/2 hour from our hometown what a small world!!! After a few pics, caught a bus to DTD, and without even changing busses, we were brought back to POFQ. A nice way to end the day!!!
