I have always thought that the prison at Guantanamo Bay was the ultimate symbol of an administration that could never admit a mistake. By all accounts, it has rendered very little actionable intelligence, while utilizing torture on what amounts to American land....I feel it will be forever remembered as a black mark on our history. I think this would have happened if Mccain had as well.

There are some extremely bad guys at Gitmo, so the question is; where do they go? Do they go to their own countries? Some of their native countries may execute them. These enemy combatants may know that, and will not want to return home. What do you want to do with Khalid Shaik Mohammed, if he isn't execute by the time Gitmo closes? Should he be executed if found guilty? Do you want to bring these terrorists into the USA if they cannot be repatriated. So before you "rejoice", think of the consequences.

I believe Gitmo's days were numbered before the election, no matter which candidate had won. Probably more so if it wasMcCain.

None of them will be allowed in the US, they will all have to go back to await whatever fate has in store for them. I don't want any part of the torture or keeping POWs indefinitely.

I think we need to institute a program in which every liberal is given a chance to adopt a terrorist. They have been at Gitmo, a retreat from the stresses of jihad, but now they need to be integrated back into society. I think those who have been most outspoken should be able to get to the front of the adoption line. Of course the proper parolee home requires that all women who reside there must be covered; head to toe. Believe me, its a small sacrifice for unity. Think of the money that women will save on wardrobe, hair, make up.

It should be closed or turned into a different facility. The detainees need to be processed through a judicial system. They were detained by us and need to be provided the rights that our constitution provides, charged and prosecuted or they need to be released.

I say they need get their own......but would be happy to talk to those who are interested in our form of government......

I am thinking the scum housed in Gitmo are not interested in a conversation. I think they want to kill me and mine (and yes, even you) & they have proven this by their acts.

Again, I am really looking forward to President-elect Obama's decision that he must make regarding terrorists, once he is presented with the full intelligence picture.
