So in desperation I went to the Sally Beauty store near my workplace to see if I could find some inexpensive help for my poor DD14's skin, which has decided to break out with a vengeance since the weather is warming up.

I explained my problem, and the lady recommended this Mint Julep Masque. I couldn't believe it was so cheap; the woman at the register said that she has many customers who SWEAR BY this stuff. At the price listed I couldn't really go wrong, so I got some and brought it home.

DD14 (after intense eyerolling action) used it Sunday night, and Monday morning couldn't BELIEVE how much better her skin looked! :woohoo: She was all excited, and so was I. She used it again last night, and this morning it was even better. I hope it continues; the poor kid is SO gorgeous, and those pimples really make her self-concious. Her skins more clear, looks finer with smaller pores, and much less rough. AND she's much happier! :lovestruc

So, anyway, if anyone's interested in trying it I thought I'd make a mention. :)

(oh yeah, and she did mention that it stings quite a bit at first, but it didn't cause any redness or rash, and the stingy feeling went away after a minute or so)

Thanks for the tip. I bet my DD would like to try that. She doesn't have bad acne but her forehead tends to break out easily. The rest of her face is fine. I will have to run out and get some today.

DS15 is on acne medicine for his acne because it is so bad and it is amazing how well it helps.

Is it made by Queen Helene? I looked it up online and I saw this. They have it at Walgreens too. It is between $2-3 :thumbsup2

I used that when I was a teen. I can't believe it's still around!

My son's face cleared up with the Acne-Free regimen, also available at Walgreens. It a knockoff Pro-Activ. He was clear in a week.

We did Acne-Free too, and it worked well for DD but it seemed like it stopped working for her after a while, not to mention this stuff's more within my price range, which is the second biggest reason I thought I'd share. :flower3:

Thanks for posting, My 12 year old dd as acne we have tried many treatments. Maybe this one will help.

thanks for posting! my DD12 has horrible acne, and i'm going to give this a try!

thanks for the tip.
Im going to get this for DS13. He has horrible black heads on his forehead and nose. Poor kid got his dads skin

Thanks for posting this. How does it smell? Does it leave an odor that my DS15 may think is too girly??

QUEEN HELENE!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOVE their products - they also make an amazing MINT JULEP SCRUB that I use every morning. (They have a whole line of stuff - you can find it at Ulta if you have those near you)

You can use the mask all over, or just as a spot treatment. Put a little on a pimple before bed and leave it on all night.

OMG!!!! I used this when I was about 11-12....and that was in 1966...glad that it is working for her!

I use this stuff from Sally's to keep my hair from thinning. It really, really works. For the first time in my life, I have thick hair, and it used to be really thin.

I am going to have to pick some up for my DD13. Thanks!

I used that when I was in middle school (only 12 years ago) and my friends always marveled at how clear my skin was. I use to get the occassional pimple but other than that my skin was very clear. I may go back to using that as I haven't found anything recently that I like as well.

my daughter used proactive for years now she uses AcneFree she loves it all her frinds use it it is half the price of proactive also at walmart they have different treatments here is a $2 coupon for the sports AcneFree
http://www.acnefree.com/af

I found the AcneFree Sport pack marked down at Walgreens for $9.99. Inside the pack was a $2 off coupon as well. I went back the other day and there were still two packs. My DS11 used the product and I could see a difference in just a couple of days. He hasn't started to break out really bad yet but I figured he could nip it in the bud. ;)
