My company introduced a new IT policy last month and blocked a large number of websites!! - Any sports, chat or adult related ones were blocked as they were deemed "time wasting" - strangely they dont class ebay as time wasting??

Either was the Disboards ended up blocked but now ive managed to get round the security

That will teach them not to send me on too many courses

Good news!
I remember the IT policy where I worked was a 'mare. It actually stopped me doing my job and I got fed up trying to fight to get my files through e-mail.

DH's work blocks an interesting combination of sites too

Seems to be the way many employers are going. I note we have to click accept everytime we log on that we understand the acceptable use policy. Presumably this is so they can take action against employees who break the rules

More than likely!! Although i did notice that although all sports websites are blocked, for some reason you can always access the Chelsea FC website - wonder if this has anything to do with our entire Server team supporting Chelsea?!

Our company policy has always been that we can use the internet aslong as we dont have anything outstanding and as i start at 7am thats not too much of an issue lol!
