I was debating between the Olympus SP550, the Sony DSC-H9 and the Canon S5 IS.

I saw too many poor reviews about image quality on the Olympus, and the Sony's use of a propretary battery instead of AA's really turned me off. I always run low on battery power, so this was a big issue for me.

So I decide on the Cannon S5 IS. The local Staples "carries" them, so I go to check it out, I want to hold it and see some of the features 1st hand. As luck would have, not a singe Staples in New England has them in stock yet.

check it out at bestbuy and order it from whichever store you want to online. our local best buy has them. Beachcamera.com has a cheaper price then both best buy or staples

Try Curcuit City and Ritz Camera too. Even Wal-Mart and Target may have them. I know they both carried the S3 IS.

I went in and looked at it firt at Circuit city and bought it at Best Buy.
I am like you. I had to hold it and physically see it before I bought it.
I hope you can get a hold of one.
If it is any concilation. I love my S5 IS
