FINALLY COMPLETE! 10/3/2010- But Why is the Rum Gone? Disneyween 2007

Since I need to post the pics for the AC entry, I figured I might as well throw in my own notes, too!

The funny thing is that I think Sherice actually wanted to check out some of the OTHER PI clubs that night (I can hear the AC fans asking- There are other PI clubs???), but I insisted we at least stop in the Club to see what was going on. We peeked in from upstairs, which resulted in the very democratic decision of, “HEY! My Emil is Hathaway! We’re going downstairs now!!!” Sorry, Sherice!

(For those of you who are totally lost on all this Club stuff, here’s a quick cast of characters:

Pamelia Perkins- Club President
Samantha Sterling- Club adventuress who does a nightly cabaret
Graves- The butler
The Maid- her name changes depending on who plays her that night
Hathaway Browne- Club aviator and ladies man
Fletcher Hodges- Club curator
Emil Bleehall- Junior Adventurer from Sandusky, Ohio- my favorite character
Otis T. Wren- Club treasurer and fisherman

Did I get everyone? Yes? Maybe? I think so? Good!

The basis is that it is Open House 1937 at this club for adventurers, and you are all invited to become members! I gave a much better explanation in my last report (see signature for link!). For this report, it’s probably helpful if you know that the cast changes from night to night- the actor that played Hathaway last night might be Fletcher tonight.

Got it? Good! Carry on then! (-end Tim Gunn voice-)

So, I made up our minds that we were staying, and as we turned around to walk downstairs, BAM! There’s Hathaway! Apparently, Hathaway has a built-in tracking device that draws him to groups of women! ;)

We found a picture of what we decided was our pirate ship, the Llama Llama Duck!

Downstairs, Katie was introduced to the room, we grabbed drinks, and settled down in the main salon. Fletcher Hodges and the Maid were entertaining the room until the next show started, and I don’t remember much of what went on, but it was *hilarious*.

Yes, that’s a pear and a feather duster she’s balancing! After balancing stuff, they moved on to “stuff I can do with my tongue”. Wait, that sounds dirty for the DIS-boards! It’s not THAT kind of club. (Or is it??) Anyway, I learned that I can NOT roll my tongue sideways, but do not have enough shame to keep me from repeatedly trying to do so in a room full of strangers!

At some point, Fletcher broke out the xylophone, and was playing various tunes when he announced “Now, I am going to be inspired… by something written on a t-shirt!” Remember my Star Wars shirt from MGM? Yep! Every girl should be serenaded on a xylophone at least once in her life, I say. It will be the new flowers and candy.

I think Katie covered the Balderdash Cup, but I do have a photo to share from the Maid’s singalong:

We’ve got an old dude dressed as an MnM, a French Maid, and a guy from Puerto Rico dressed in a black mask and black angel wings.

I think this pretty much sums up the Disneyween trip in a nutshell, really.

After Hathaway’s presentation in the Mask Room, we decided to just stay in there and hang out, which is when the guys from Atlanta (?) started asking how we knew each other and such. Does anyone else get a little embarrassed to admit you know your friends from the internet?

The annoying kid Katie mentioned WAS annoying. At one point when I took out my camera, he said “MAN! How OLD is that camera???” Um, it’s like three years old, kid. And we are a fabulous team. Don’t diss my camera, or I will kick you!!

We asked Hathaway to pose for a group photo, and as we were taking it, Fletcher came in, too, so we ended up with an even bigger group!

How did Katie get to be in the middle of the Fletcher/Hathaway sandwich? I think I’m jealous! (And poor Sherice, it’s like a meeting of the Tall People Club!)

We became members of the club for the 87th time, danced around to the Rhythm Ritual, and then it was time for the final show- the Hoopla! (Hoopla!)

ac4.jpg

This may have been my favorite Hoopla in memory! (And heaven knows I’ve seen a few!!!) For one, there was an *awesome* cast tonight. I didn’t video tape any of the show, but with the power of You Tube, I can semi-recreate it for you!

Here’s Otis’s song:

(Again, not my taping! Give credit where due!) And man, I LOVE this Otis! Not quite as much as Scottish Otis, but close!

And here’s Emil’s Mailman song:

A classic!!!

(You guys know I am going to keep pimping the Club until *every single one of you* goes, right?)

I have no video of Hathaway’s song (Never On A Sunday, by Connie Francis), but he sang half of it with a leg propped up on the leg of my chair (If there were a video, it would be called “Up close and personal with Hathaway Browne!”), and the other half to Katie. (Hey, if you were there that night, and filmed it, let me know!)

Just after Hathaway’s song, a group of late people came into the Library (the room where the big shows are), and Samantha decided that they should do a quick montage of the show thus far to catch them up. I nearly fell out of my chair laughing as they sped through the acts (mostly doing each other’s), especially when Hathaway threw in a few lines of “History is made by Stupid People”, which wasn’t even done that night ;) It was, to quote a favorite phrase of Katie and I, “something!”.

Hathaway is blurry, but Otis’s face is priceless!

Totally unrelated to anything- we saw this license plate on the drive home(s), and laughed…a lot.

We’re not sure if it stands for what we think it stands for, but it’s fun to say!!!

And OH MY GOODNESS, I just realized something I left out of my earlier Epcot post!!!

As we were walking through the WS after Illuminations, the girl in front of us started dancing. A lot. Now, if there’s anyone who knows about randomly dancing in public, it’s me! But this girl was full-out modern dance interpreting the post-Illuminations music. To her credit, she at least had technique! It was hilarious to watch, though!

Back at the hotel, I was getting ready for bed when I realized how blissed out I was. Most of you know what a crappy year I've had, between sickness and death and job stress- I don't think I've ever needed a vacation so much. It reminds me of a lyric from a musical called Big River- "I've got to hide someplace to find myself again." And now after just a day of being away, I was so happy, so carefree, and back to actually feeling like ME. It doesn't get better than that.

I wish we would have had better weather, but it looks like you made the best of your time.

Can't wait to see the MNSSHP pics!

And look at this, I've been busy for a few days, and when I check back in, there are all kinds of trip updates, AND the report has finally been moved. Keep'em coming ...

Awesome report so far (as usual).

Can't wait for some more:thumbsup2 Yeah, I am a trip report piggie like that :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

You totally got us hooked on AC we will br bringing the troops in Jan/Feb there several nights!

I have to laugh at this part of your post, as i was with this guy and another friend for a good portion of the day, we did go back to get him and move the party on to Jelly rolls...From about 2pm till 5pm, there were three of us, there..of course the boys were drinking me 2 to 1...but for the most part the glasses were ours...lol...Yep, I'm admitting it...LOL We had a few donations....and tons of people took our pics so I am not surprised to end up in a Trippie....darn it now I am going to have to go back and read the whole thing...sounds like your trip was as much fun as mine

The time had come for the fastpasses Katie and Sherice had picked up for Test Track earlier in the day before I got there, so we started making our way back towards Future World. On the way, we saw this giant tower of drink glasses, right by the booth that sells the Grand Mariner Slushies!

While Katie was posing for the picture, a guy came up and said “Hey, you’re not taking credit for my tower, are you?” and insisted that Katie be in a picture with him.

I love that I captured the moment right as he started to spill his drink on her! (Awww, Katie made a friend!)

He later admitted that only two or three of the glasses were his. LIAR!

Hi my name is carrie and I chat with these people :rolleyes1

I need to read more reports and find you guys in them.

Great updates Crystal. You guys always leave me laughing. The picture of Katie sitting in the guys lap next to all the glasses was particularly funny. Thanks for the laugh!:thumbsup2

That French maid is Gabby Normal.

The maids' names can be quite funny.

I haven't been to the AC in years..........it is a MUST that DH & I go next time we are in the WORLD.

I am glad you got back to feeling like yourself Crystal..... I love that your happy place can do that for you.

Great updates Crystal (and Katie!) :thumbsup2

Don't you just love the healing powers of WDW? Everything just seems to go away. I think Doctors should prescribe trips there...I'd bet a couple days there would cure anything.

OMG - I just finished your whole TR. It took me an hour last night and almost 3 hours today. You're a hoot. I am so jealous that you're moving to FL. Are you going to reveal anytime soon how that came about? I'm freezing right now in CT. Can't wait until the next installment, so glad I'm up to date. popcorn::

Hey Crystal! I just got all caught up again and your pre-trip was great but I was never warned that your TR would be so damn funny! :lmao: I cracked up at so many parts - the pea soup, your Morocco (and Japan!) pictures, the picture of Katie on that random guy's lap :lmao: I'm loving it!

Definitely looking forward to more! Oh, and I love that Big River quote :thumbsup2
