Hi y'all,

In April my family went on their long anticipated first trip as DVC members. To save on some points we started out at the Boardwalk Villas in a Standard View Studio (which I was able to book at 7 mos:banana: ). Upon checking in I was told that we were given a complimentary upgrade to a preferred view, I was sooooo excited because I talked DH joining DVC and I was really hoping for a clean room with no problems - a better view was icing on the cake! Starting out on our first DVC trip with a little pixie dust, what could be better?

I had requested from the middle to the end of the hallway because I was hoping for an EPCOT view from a standard room. They honored that request but instead we were facing the Dolphin/Swan and the waterway. It was actually a pretty nice view and we enjoyed hearing and watching the Friendships go by. Sat out on the balcony and "chilled" watching them occasionally.

The room was as clean as could be, I was so relieved there were no problems. A few trip reports had me a little spooked. I looked carefully at things and really, you had to pay close attention to notice a bit of chipped paint around the mirror, that kind of thing (and I have pics to prove it, they are coming . . .) . We only had three nights here and was surprised by housekeeping on our second day. I even tried to talk the mousekeeper out of cleaning our room as I didn't get why she was there but she said she had "full cleaning" on her clipboard so - ok. We weren't charged for it either so we got some more pixie dust sent our way!

I do get now what other posters mean by those looooonnnnng wallways at the Boardwalk Villas. Since I'd requested it I had no cause to complain but I DO now understand :)

Pixie Dust again on our last BWV day - DS got a Magical Moment certificate and a whole clown get up (the curly red wig, big glasses, red round nose etc) because he was the first child down the clown slide that day! I wasn't there unfortunately and DH didn't take pics :( but DS has all his momentos :thumbsup2

We enjoyed the pool (and Leaping Horse Libations!), DD who is 7 was a little scared of that clown side when I told her about it - but it took her about a second to get over that. They had a great time swimming and DH used the exercise room. I enjoyed all the shops and this cheesecake and chocolate brownie dessert from the Boardwalk bakery, mmmmmmm.

We ate at ESPN one night and that was good, excellent nachos, pretty much sports bar food (what else?). Saw another wedding at that spot you pass while walking to EPCOT? I don't know what that spot is called but I've seen several ceremonies going on there.

The only drawback during this stay was that there was a restaurant convention going on at the Yacht club. I sat next to a table full of these conventioneers one afternoon out in front of the bakery and their conversation was, well, less than family friendly. Lots of the f word, that kind of thing. I guess I don't expect that at WDW, it seems so out of place to me. This was a table of about 5 women in their 20's I'd say. The only good thing I can say is they did have the good sense to leave when a family with young children sat down (I was by myself enjoying that chocolate cheesecake thing!).

All in all, a great vacation with extra pixie dust. Here's a few pics of the room and our view:

BTW, I have no idea why some of those pics are not straight, I must have been having too much fun!

I'm so glad you are enjoying your BWV stay. What time did your DS get to the pool to win the magical moment clown outfit?

What a pretty view of the Dolphin! Glad you had such a nice time!

Bobbi:)

Hi again,

Thanks!

I'm not sure what time it was but I'm guessing about 8 to 8:30 am. I had gone over to CBR to meet my sister that morning and wasn't with them.

It was a nice view, we really enjoyed it :thumbsup2

It sounds like you had a great vacation! :cool1: It is awesome that you received the extra Pixie Dust. BWV is one of our favorite resorts.

You're welcome.

It is a beautiful resort, loved the Wyland Gallery too. Wish I could afford some of the stuff in there!
